10 or 11. That was when Simpsons comic books first came out in Germany. I soon realized they weren't good at all, but I wanted to keep reading comics and then I switched to DC. I liked Superman, Flash and JLA the most. Coincidentally, that was when the Morrison JLA first came out in Germany. I guess it molded my taste. I later realized that I had a good chunk of the James Robinson and Johns JLA as a kid when I bought the JSA omnibus.
>>
Probably 9 or 10, it was a Civil War trade.
>>
15, bought the first Umbrella Academy because I thought it would be really funny/bad since it was written by the lead singer of My Chemical Romance... but then it turned out to be really, really good. Still go to the same shop eight years later too.
>>
Don't be stupid, everyone knows /co/ doesn't read comics.

Probably like 5. Grew up reading The Beano and Dandy as well as The Sonic Comics (Fleetway).
>>
>Reading comics

lmao nigga just watch the movies
>>
I'm British, so it would have been a Beano when I was in the single digits. My pocket money would have only been like a pound or two, but that was enough to buy the comic, some football stickers, and some chocolate back then.
>>
>>83290699
She look likes an age as Star Butterfly or Luan Loud.
>>
I was probably like nine. It was I believe an issue of x factor from the late 80s. I remember if having them all fighting a giant appocalypse

"Bought" for myself?

I was probably about 5-6 years old. I used the tickets I had won at my local arcade to buy a comic. I had no idea what it was at the time, but it seemed like it was a better prize than a whoopee cushion or half a dozen plastic army men.

It was Justice League Europe #50, the final issue before the start of JLI vol 2. Obviously my young dumb self had no idea that an amnesiac Hal banged Power Girl. That shit flew right over my head

Gee-Whiz Arcade & Bowling in Dorchester, Mass. Fond memories. Still got the comic in storage somewhere.

age 7 in 1966 I bought the Sparky on the way to school for the free gift I'd seen on TV the night before of a sort of tucked in envelope thingy which you snapped open against the air t'produce a loud bang only t'have the bastarding thing snatched out me excited little fingers so ran back home risking being late for school for the money t'buy another one.

That year I also rediscovered American superhero comics when I laid eyes on the first issue of Dial H For Hero and remembered buying Challengers of the Unknown #3 aged 4
>>
really young, not sure, maybe 8 or so
it was a xmen comic, they were fighting magneto and somehow someone was sent to space in one punch or something like that

About 6. It was a Lucky Luke album.
>>
>>83290699
Well I didn't buy them myself, but when I was 7 or so I started getting one or two whenever my mom took my with her to the supermarket.
I never got consecutive issues, but it didn't really matter.
Then a cousin gave me some of his and I got some 80's X-Men at a thrift store.
>>
I think I was 15-16. Before that I just read my dad's, or got trades from my surprisingly comprehensive local library.
>>
I was like super young. Maybe 6. I really liked Spider-Man after the first Raimi movie in 2002. So around 2003 I would get random comics, but stopped. Then when I was 15 in September 2011, I started getting Ultimate Spider-Man to see how Miles Morales was, and that kept me going. I'm 20 now and my collection is huge. Only problem is that I've been behind on my comics since March 2015, so I have to catch up big time.

What's with all of the stock images today?

Never bought a comic in my life. Comics are for faggots.
>>

8, some guy was peddling stuff from his childhood on the street. There were mostly old toys but I saw a He-Man comic and I got it for a nickel.

shouldn't a person like you stick to the Steven Universe or Zootopia threads? You'd probably feel more comfortable among your own kind, and bait more replies.

Bought myself? 7 years old, a random X-Men comic that had Cannonball, feral Wolverine and Sebastian Shaw on the cover. I was hooked immediatelly. My parents gave me Mickey and Goofy comics since before I knew how to read though.
>>
>>83290699
Hmmm...think I was around 7. Captain Carrot or Cloak and Dagger were my first comics. Then various Archi and friends comics. Later followed by New Mutants #58. I think my logic on that one was "Oooh...werewolf booty!"
>>
>>83290953
Fuck off back to /pol/ then

Buy indies if you like but if you don't pirate capeshit you're an idiot

I was around seven, my mom gave me some money and I went to the shop down the street. I don't exactly remember which ones I got. I think I got one of wolverine in the weapon x project, one with apocalypse, and one with Batman and maybe a few others.

I don't buy any because I don't need them cluttering my house and I'm not the type of person to reread them

That. I also read most of my comics in libraries.
I tried to support comics I liked as an adult, but I just don't have space for it all. Money is nothing. SPACE
