Because they want to appeal to a wider audience and sell more toys.
Modern DC animated characters aren't more anime-like, they simply have more realistic proportions while still keeping some of the influences inspired by B:TAS. This makes them visually pop despite being realistic-ish while not being so distinctive looking that they become a turn off for the uninitiated.
It applies to merch sales as well as just the dvd/blu-ray sales.
So it's just generic-fication to maximize profits.
