After the beginning and rise of Batman: The Animated Series, DC started this particular comic which was based on the series and presented stories which couldn't be shown on the series, some characters that never made it into the series made it into this comic, some stories that couldn't be told in the series were told in this ongoing..All in the hand of Puckett & Templeton.

They were a lot better than the mainline Batman comics, anyway.
That was a period when Denny O'Neil was editing Batman and Denny O'Neil hated fun. The TAS books felt more like what a Batman story should be.

My favorite thing about DCAU Batman was that he was a real damn smartass when he wanted to be
