Her negativity was not a positive asset.
In the show she ended up being the ultimate joke.
Her dismissal of others as lesser than her, as "normies", eventually led to her being the one who walked the shortest plank of life.
Maybe she was "smarter" but the world was not rejecting her because of it, she chose to reject world.
The positive ones were not keeping her out of anything, she made her own life unsatisfactory through her own choices.
She was given all the same chances to be happy and successful as everyone else but she threw them away to get her short-term doses of smug self-satisfaction through non-conformity.

To be fair, the earlier seasons were mostly comedy and had everyone else comparably dumber/weirder than Daria. For most of the show, we were looking through Daria's lenses and resuming status quo until the writers decided to have a change of pace and turn it into a dramedy.
Then again, she did end up maturing at the end of the series, which means she still has time to turn her life around.
