Let's finish this, lads
Part 1:
>>83092272
>>83125534
Go man, go
Did anyone else play that shitty Watchmen vidya?
I played it with a friend, he was Rorschach and I was Nite Owl. There was a point were I got literally stuck to the ground and couldn't get out so we reset the game but I ragequit and we never played it again since.
I also played the mobile game, that one was kinda fun.
>>83125534
I thought that was Manhattan's dick and balls being reflected in someone's one from the thumbnail
>>83125959
i just recently got into watchmen, and tried to download the mobile game but alas it was taken down from the app store.
>>83126096
That sucks, but I'm pretty sure you can find it somewhere online.
>>83126096
dude
>>83125809
This is such a fun chapter. Laurie's funny in this one.
>insert unnecessarily long sex scene here in case of movie adaptation
>>83127295
NOW I'VE HEARD THAT THERE WAS A SECRET CHORD
Is there any psych anon who would know what kind of disorders Rorschach has? Does he exhibit any specific symptoms of a mental illness, or is he just generically crazy?
>>83122770
>>83125534
I've been there.
It is really easy to keep drawing connections until you've soerged out multi layer insanity
Lord knows half of my writings are like that
>>83127538
I'd say he definitely has PTSD. I also got a sexual abuse/rape survivor vibe from some of his reactions re: sex and women.
Other than that, who knows.
>>83127421
>>83127295
I actually do enjoy Zack picking up on Watchmen's total lack of subtly.
Its like a fruitcake, dense and conspicuous.
>>83125880
I recall playing the demo, that's it.
>>83127810
i read somewhere that originally, it wasn't leonard cohen's version of hallelujah- it was a female singer. test audiences' reactions were extremely positive, and most got the vibe that the characters "really loved each other", and snyder changed it to cohen just to fuck with them. i don't know how well i can trust the veracity of that anecdote, but it seems like something snyder would do.
Once again, thanks OP. I love this book and I love talking about it.
>>83127974
My friend bought it because he's a sucker for all things Watchmen, doesn't even care that Moore disaproves, he just loves the universe that much.
>>83128036
No problem anon
>>83125688
>A mechanic flying owl mobile
>It probably has a dash lighter
>>83128015
Just to fuck with who?
>>83128162
audiences, because he's an edgelord like that, i suppose
Would it be weird to do Pax Americana next in order to compare?
I still have no fucking idea where Grant was going with the Ultimates riff?
Like my bet guess is Ultimates did to avengers what Watchmen did to Charlton but instead of 80s anti government it was 00s pro government.
But that still doesnt tell me what the point of it in the story was.
Ita like a joke with no puncline
>>83128161
Also, I feel dumb for not realizing they have sex after she lights the flame literally.
>>83128244
Yeah, it's basically his 21st century Watchmen, with a war on terror vibe.
>>83128327
But it has literally zero to do with the war on terror or the ultimates or much of anything besides the Presidents suicide pact and Question and Atom having cute for a few pages.
Seriously he blew four pages just to say "Superheroes are done, time for the army to take over" in a really tryhard way, and yet that plotpoint goes no where.
Pax in 40 issues has almost nothing happen it seemed like grant just wanted to fuck with frank for three years making him draw insanely detailed yet meaning light, graphics and symbology.
Its Hilarious, every one goes on about folks missing the appeal of Watchmen and just cping its edge. But Grant misses the point in the entire opposite direction.
Its like Finnegans Wake translated into Simlish
It's funny how this series also gives us a peak into the musical tastes of Moore.
>>83127810
Seriously, you can't beat Ozzy watching Nite Owl and Rorschach fly across Antarctica to All Along the Watchtower
>>83128459
Just a reminder that Manson died cuz Dan can't get a boner without his sick fetish
>>83128496
Yeah, the format means there's not much story there. I do like the idea of the government essentially creating the thing that destroyed it.
>>83128561
Is this Ben Garrison?
>>83128561
>crying liberty
based gibbons
>>83128408
>>83128459
I don't like this story anymore!
>>83128871
>>83128561
Kelly reference? Moore and Gibbons confirmed for bros.
>>83128622
I have no idea why grant would try to do a watchmen riff in 40 pages and not come correct.
If you get past the obvious flaw and have the time, id recommend the motion comic

Not a shrink, but the only constant is that he's Right Wing Travis Bickle with a hatred of sex.
>>83129010
>Al wouldnt let them put his name on it
Jesus fuck dc
>>83129216
my favorite chapter
>>83125880
It's really interesting that both Adrian and Dan romanticize different ancient eras, leading to their different approaches to the same problem.
>>83126982
>>83127008
looks like page 228 didn't post
>>83129755
Ah shit
>>83126982
Continued here
>>83129878
The JFK/Woodward thing being explcotit bothered me in the movie. Comedian wasn't that dumb.
>captcha is Morrison
lol
>>83129969
>>83129993
>>83130019
>Finding out your real father is actually a huge shitbag
I know that feel, Laurie. I know it all too well. Thanks for posting, OP. I love this chapter.
>>83130233
No problem anon, glad you're enjoying
>>83130074
he even works in the happy face on mars
i love it so much, i love this chapter
>>83130567
Felt bad for Rorschach there. He's just awkward as hell
>>83127295
I have been meaning to watch the movie even if it ends up being crap it will be worth it to seethe squidin all its cinematic glory
>>83130641
Oh, anon. You sweet, innocent child.
>>83130693
Oh well in that case I guess I can watch it to see just how bad it looks
>>83127502
>like my coffee black as the devil
>black kid dressed as devil

>>83131040

>>83131107
Just go watch it, you pure soul.
>>83131169
I shall find me a copy I sure as hell cant spare the bandwidth to download it
>>83130787
>Happy Harry's
Oh shit, that's where Harry Partridge got his handle.
>>83131188
I wonder if Veidt's Saturday morning cartoon show sucked?
>>83131209
A toy based on Rorschach? The escaped convict? Really? I feel like there would be outrage over something like that.
>>83131557
>I wonder if Veidt's Saturday morning cartoon show sucked?
You can see for yourself, fampai
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDDHHrt6l4w
>>83130074Never did understand why Sally hooked up again with her would-be rapist.
>>83131557
How the fuck did Veidt get away with licensing toys based on the other heroes?
Shouldn't Dan and Rorscach be getting royalties for this? God knows Rorschach could use them.
>>83131762
God this fight is satisfying, I love me some trained badass effortlessly fucking over tryhards who haven't worked for it. Moore probably hates me for saying shit like that but whatever
>>83131791
Adrian's fucking "Good to see you Dan" smile when he first sees him kills me every time before the seriousness of what he has to do kicks in on the next panel
>>83131749
Some are like that, some form of Stockholm syndrome.
>>83131801
keep in mind when this book was written.
the 1990 lawsuit craze hadn't started yet.
A lot of won lawsuits in the late 80's/early 90's paved the way to the madness we have now with royalties and trademarking
>>83131801
Rorschach disparaged Veidt for selling out, and is nuts enough that he wouldn't want that money.
Dan is probably too much of a nice guy to get upset over it, and Veidt probably wouldn't be above giving Dan money under the table if he really pushed.
Legally, they can't do shit because going to court would mean outing themselves, and the inevitable legal grey of "owning" an illegal persona.
Here it comes here it comes here it comes
good god, what is the easiest way to save all the images in a thread?!

Is Rorscach Alan Moore?
>>83132116
Ychan
>>83132174

>>83132065
I love that top panel
>>83132065
Still gives me shivers

Fuck you Ozy.
My favourite panel is coming up soon I'm hype.
>>83132116
Downthemall browser extension. don't use it on threads in desustorage though, or it executes a zillion meaningless Google searches in a split second and gets you IP blocked.
>>83132328
Wait the panel was a bit later then I remember
>>83132374
Why does everyone have a ponytail?
>>83132413
All the Top Knots were supposed to be there.
>>83132413
Gang Members
>>83132397
>Pale Horse
Fuck how did I miss that?
>>83132065
I absolutely love everything about this page.
The entire chapter has been switching between New York and Adrian, the wide panels, the dialogue in panel 1, the reactions in the second panel, the 11:59 time in New York, and the silent cut to the city; It's incredibly tense and even without turning, you know what's coming.

A lot of artists tend to have trouble with kids and teenagers, even artists as good as Gibbons
