X-Men Quicksilver was a fun character important to a plot point in his movie. Came back in the next movie and was even more entertaining than the first time.
The Avengers Quicksilver was an advanced mook. He barely talked, his powers weren't as important as Scarlett Witches were, his presence on screen was weak. His character had no substance and overall he was there just to die and be a motivator to Wanda.

Yeah it's obvious Whedon put 0 effort into fleshing Quickslav out because he just planned on killing him off anyway to feed into his frail unstable powerful girl kink with Wanda. He had potential to be a great character, especially since he wasn't as OP as X-Men's QS, but Whedon always has to be edgy with his "shocking" deaths.
Part of me hopes they bring him back for IW, but there's just so many new characters that are being introduced that it's hard to care anymore. I'm way more excited about Captain Marvel, Wasp, Valkyrie, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians meeting up with the Avengers. Whedon made him so expendable from the get-go that it's hard to miss him, just be disappointed by the wasted potential.
