The only show that ever did this right was Futurama, and that was because there was the deeper issue of Fry wanting to reconnect to the past he was torn from
>>
>>82986929
Ya, the Futurama one was great. Probably the only time this cliche never made me cringe, but it was because Fry's behavior was actually believable and understandable.
>>
>>82986929
Yes I don't know if it was the only good one but it's by far the best one I have seen.

I know this one is a purely comedy thing but it tends to tick me off when it's done in a series with continuity to maintain status quo but still have a YOU INHERITED A ZIRRION DORRA plotline.
>>
Fry you can't spend all your time in the dark listening to classical music.

literally Mabel and Rigby
although Mordecai is still worse
>>
>>82995576
explain the rigby one, i get the GF moment
>>
>>82995634
it's literally the premise of the movie
and there are a few episodes where Rigby tried to get Mordecai to hang out with him even though he has other plans because he thinks if they don't hang out together, he'll lose him
>>
>rosebud joke
COME THE FUCK ON ITS BEEN DECADES
>>
>>82996182
Mordecai in the movie (who wanted success) wasn't painted as the bad guy. He literally worked for an evil guy trying to erase all of time and shot and killed rigby. If you're referring to the current duo during the time, Mordecai wasn't painted as the bad guy either in that regard, he was rightfully mad at Rigby for forging the letter.

Episodes wise yea.

Is there anyone on earth that doesn't know Rosebud is a sled?

Bruce Willis was dead the whole time!

The Ape Planet was Earth the whole time!
Norman's mom was dead the whole time!
Tyler Durden was Edward Norton!
