The biggest problem with any fully realized fanventure is that we just don't know enough about Sburb.
Things eventually boil down to 'which fan theory should we accept as canon?' which bogs everything down into arguments.

Wow. I just finished Kid Radd, because someone mentioned it here days ago and provided a link, and I forgotten I had read the first quarter of it, fuck, like in 2003? And then forgotten about it. So 13 years later I finish it, and it was good stuff. It was the Homestuck I always wanted, just sitting there.
Simple, innovative for the time, fun characters and emulation of an 8-bit style, decent game humor in a time when it was rampant and done poorly, fun simple plot with a few neat twists, some profound moments that didn't drag out or become overwrought, and had enough meta to make it interesting instead of grossly self-masturbatory and embarrassing. Fucking A+ work. I feel like it just washed out all the gross Homestuck residue and left me feeling entertained and happy.
Plus I could digest it in one afternoon instead of dragging through a whole ugly week.

Why is there nothing like Homestuck?
I just want something with strong characters that bounce off each other really well, like those great pesterlogs between Rose and Dave.
I just want something that all comes together in ways that I couldn't have foreseen but make total sense, like all those time loops and their reverse-foreshadowing.
I just want something with an incredible world, something that gives me the sense of awe I felt the first time I saw the Land of Wind and Shade.
