BvS is objectively a good movie. The only reason why it's hated is because it's NOT. cape movie. Snyder treated the characters as they would be in reality, and the consequences they would face. That is NOT what happens in comics, where writers just hack stuff to justify 12 issue arcs and years of stories being shredded to nothingness.

Civil War was bland as hell and still got amazing reviews and broke a billion. BvS was original and a new take on the characters with amazing cinematography and soundtrack, and it did poorly. If anything, this is a cultural barometer that shows us how low we have sunk. Everyone knew the plot of CW before it came out, and no one expected anything else. No one expected the plot of BvS and it was amazing.
If you want your comics turned into movies, then you don't deserve them.

Johns is an okay writer, I guess. He makes some good capes, but at the end of the day it's still capeshit.
