Season five will be the last season. Mark my words on that. The CW will end Arrow and merge the remaining cast members onto a Legends of Tomorrow/JLA deal. Flash season three will be the last Flash season as well.
It makes sense, especially with the DCU movies coming out, to remove the independent shows and focus on a large spectrum of heroes altogether.

From the sounds of it, that's what they will be doing with Season 2. They plan to ditch the overarching villain formula and instead focus on mini arcs.
