That intern did us a service by perfectly illustrating how far western art has fallen in recent years. This defines the time that we live in
>>
>>82808713
So can I get a full story on this one? Or is it really just some doodle that rustled some jimmies?
>>
Not another smug fug thread
>>
>>82808713
>That intern did us a service by perfectly illustrating how far western art has fallen in recent years

Or how anime is fuckin trash.
>>
>>82809668
It was done overtop an original sketch by a very famous artist. Name eludes me right now. Intern presumably didn't see it, or didn't care.
>>
>>82811046
The cowboy bepop artist, actually.
>>
>>82808713
Honestly it's a pretty good drawing for an intern. There's something iconic about it- if there wasn't, you wouldn't keep posting these stupid threads every day. The intern owned you. Infected you with her meme, and now you spread it like vermin. How bout you keep it to yourself.
>>
How has nobody made porn of that face on a hot tomgirl body getting fucked by spike yet?
>>
>>82811186
more like this is the face smug doodleguy makes as he shoves one of his noodlearms up spike's ass
>>
>>82811046
>very famous artist
>Name eludes me right now

Well...
>>
>>82808713
Serious question, why does calarts trigger /co/ so much. Its like theyve finally found a label to place on every gripe they have with modern animation, and wont shut up about it?
>>
>>82811460
I went there the other day to pick up some supplies, hambeasts and hijabs everywhere.
But everyone was pretty nice..
>>
>>82811515
>hambeasts and hijabs everywhere.
I was planning on going to college there, but i dojt want to be around god loving retards like that....
>>
>>82811179
Why you think this drawing is "pretty good"; the answer will make you laugh.

The rounded simplistic head, symmetrical eyes and face, trendy art style and a smug far to top it off.

Why you would say this is "pretty good", is your inability to determine what holds depth in art, but by your brains first impressions, not at the fact that it's a face, but because of how simple and symmetrical.

This little thing can day a lot about your personality. Your simple, symmetrical, way of thinking.

Pretty good for a supporter.
>>
>>82811685
Nice try, but the more time you spend trying to talk about it, the more you prove my point.
>>
>>82811744
You're right to say it's iconic. What it's iconic of is your own perception.
>>
>>82808713
>boo hoo modern art covered up a fading image of weebshit

Who cares?
>>
>>82808713

kill yourself
>>
>>82811179
You do realize that drawing was made by a guy, right? As in male?
>>
>>82811796
Nice try, but the more time you spend trying to talk about it, the more you prove my point. You've been owned; the intern took over your mind, infected you, and now you breathe out germs in the form of faux smart-guy quips.

I suppose some people are into the whole corporate mascot on the wall thing, but I've never gone for it. personally.

If proving your point means believing in your perception, you only prove mine that yours a faggot, faggot.

I never declared I had a problem with this. She did something stupid, probably regrets it. Imo, she's basically on our side. So what have your proven?

Took me forever to realize the fading spike. It's even funnier to consider all the people who actually feel hurt over this. Honestly i think that whoever drew "nu spike" was just goofing around.
>>
>>82812063
>our side
I'm not on your side, and neither is the intern. You're on the side of people making threads about this stupid shit every day.
>>
I bet half of you guys defending CBBB didn't even watch the show. It sucks. Just because it's popular doesn't mean shit.
The movie was good though.

It's only aired about 500 times on ASA/Toonami now. I don't see how it's possible to have not caught it at some point

Cartoon Network then now.png
1 MB, 632x1079
The only reason you guys care about it is because it's a metaphor for how, in your eyes, Cartoon Network is shunning the style they used to have in the 90s in order to cater to millennials with CalArts animators.

The sad fact is that nobody gives a shit. Cartoon Network is a business, a business that relies on advertiser money. And they would prefer to cater to a demographic which is more likely to beg their parents to buy worthless shit for them.

But you can't fight Cartoon Network. You certainly can't do anything that could actually work towards actual progress, like mailing Cartoon Network's offices or actually getting into the animation business yourselves.

You have to spend your time on here, posting your outrage over a drawing being covered up by another drawing.

What do you possibly have to gain from any of this?
>>

>>

>Cartoon Network is shunning the style they used to have in the 90s in order to cater to millennials with CalArts animators.
You mean NOT cater to millenials Millenials like the top picture.
>>
>>82811046
To be fair, I can barely see the sketch beneath it.
>>
>>82812877
You get what I'm saying. When's the last time you actually supported Cartoon Network with cold hard cash?

Seriously, all you guys do is hate on anything nuCN does. Some of you were happy when Uncle Grandpa was cancelled without their creators knowing.

>>82812775

I could keep going on, if you want.
>>
>>82812554

I've never watched Cowboy Bebop, so it doesn't effect me on that level, but I just find it gross that some nobody decided it'd be a good idea to draw over something the people over at Cartoon Network left up for decades admiring it as a piece of history for the studio for absolutely no reason. There was no good reason for this person to do this, and we will likely never know who it was or why they did it or if they even regret it. Probably some fucking dare or something retarded like that.
>>
>>82813015
>You get what I'm saying. When's the last time you actually supported Cartoon Network with cold hard cash?
Years ago, but I'm a millenial. CN is catering to children of a generation that hasn't been named yet, because they're 16 and under, except for Regular show, and Steven Universe, which do cater to millennials.
>>
>>82808713
people deleting steven universe treads but this keeps going
>>
>>82813261
Okay? Not my problem go fuck off. Don't you people have an entire general to lust over Lapis' feet? Why must you have multiple threads and a general up? Isn't one enough to satisfy your autism?

some CN intern doodles on a literal wall covered in doodles and covered up A BARELY VISIBLE sketch by the cowby beboppity faggot.

All this resulted in every cartoon purist and weeb to come out the woodwork and throw a temper tantrum over MUH ORIGINALITY

faggots, everyone involved
>>
>>82812554
No, I just think it's fucking rude.
I'd feel the same if I learned someone drew over a Craig PPG/Foster's sketch.

It's a nothing character from a nothing person overshadowing something of value. Fuck off, intern, you aren't shit yet.
>>
>>82808713
If there was a /co/ poster in this position, they'd likely doodle in TTGO or Louise Belcher's feet or something.
>>
>>82812554
bull fucking shit.

there was no "style" in the 90s and early 2000s. Shows looked vastly different to eachother. Johnny Bravo, Samurak Jack, Megas, Courage, Edd Ed n Eddy all looked the fucking same right?

look at the shows on CN now, noodly arms and a sterilized, generic art style across all their shows. Flapjack was probably the last show on CN that broke the mold.
>>
>>82813466

That's been there for years. Everyone knew what it was. Everyone knew who drew it, and steered clear of it out of reverence.

Everyone except the clueless intern.
>>
>>82812063
What the anon means is that by /co/ doing threads about this stupid thing over and over, they are making this act iconic and important, while if people would have just ignored it, it'd have feel into obscurity and nobody'd give a dam.

Its like all those crazy-ass artists who do shit to bold or somewhere that'd stir up so much controversy because they get people to look at it. That's why it's "iconic".
>>
>It's biggest claim to fame is that it makes neckbeards mad, rather than possessing any interesting qualities in itself
Well, OP's not wrong - it speaks volumes about the decade it was made in.

You're a piece of worthless shit. Why the fuck do we have to listen to your "Godly words" to try to prove a point about shit? Why do you even fucking care?
This is why every fucker that comes in a hate thread trying to be "right" when they don't fucking have any input in the matter needs to fucking die in a fire, you have no presence in this. Do you honestly think you're defending someone? You think your "saving" the intern that scribbled on a beloved artist's work? You're on FUCKING 4CHAN you piece of shit, once you've spend time doing shit like "muh voice" on fucking 4chan of all places, you're nothing but trash, you're worthless to anyone here. Fucking kill yourself and never come back here, damn shilling retard.
>>
At least the inter's drawing was relevant. Maybe the bebop guy shouldn't have drawn anime on a wall dedicated to western cartoons. There were probably plenty of anime walls.
>>
>>82818472
What I mean is even if you debate this forever, nothing's going to change. The drawing is still going to be there.

The intern did a stupid thing, sure. But instead of focusing on that, why not take actions to ensure this won't happen again?
>>
>>82815929
The fact that there was no style in the 90s is itself a style.

It was probably just some guy who didn't realise what he was drawing over. If I saw that Spike sketch on a wall I'd assume it was just done by some artist who liked anime rather than the character's creator.

There's a ton of graffiti in the bathroom of the McDonald's. Better go call the SHPO to get it registered as historically significant!
