Was Cap justified in going through all that trouble to save Bucky?
>>
>>82730661

The fact that you ask this means you do not understand what it is like to have a brother.
>>
Yes, Bucky is best boy.
>>
>>82730661
Soldiers don't leave a man behind.
>>
To him, yes. Bucky is his only friend left from the old days.
>>
>>82730661
what sort of evil person would stand by and do nothing while their government murdered a man for a crime he didn't commit?
if you can do something, but you don't, and people die, they died because of you
>>
>>82730661
Bucky did nothing wrong, so yes.
>>
>>82730703
>you do not understand what it is like to have a brother.

I think "friend" is the more applicable term. You don't get to choose brothers. I have two and I straight up hate them.

Tony also caused peoples family members to die, much more directly than Bucky.

Doesn't mean Cap should let people kill Tony.

Hawkeye also killed people while under mind control. Banner also killed people while under mind control.

I don't know if he was justified, but I'd do the same for some of my friends. If Tony is allowed to go "Blah he killed my mom" and do whatever he wants, then Cap is allowed to go "He's my bosom friend." and do whatever he wants. Doesn't make anyone right though, I dunno.
>>
>>82731829

We've killed people under mind altering substances, it would apply similarly to someone like Bucky.

We imprison more people than Red China, and are the last nation killing people in the Western world at any kind of rate and all of it applied under the addage of "Eye for an Eye" which you ascribed immaturity to.

We have a long history of killing when it comes to kin.

According to the actor it's because he knew Cap still believes in him or something.
>>
>>82731747
He didn't know Bucky was framed, but he was told that there were orders to shoot Bucky on sight. At the very least, he wanted to make sure that Bucky wasn't killed, especially since there was a possibility he was still brainwashed.

>>
>>82732527
According to the tie-in comics he really doesn't really know who Cap is, just appreciates him because he set him free and trusted in him.
On the other hand there's the part where he recites memories that he would've known as Bucky to Steve, so I'm getting mixed messages from this. Maybe he remembers being Bucky but can't feel any emotional attachment to it.

Cap will go through any hell for any reason. If it is good he will do it. But he was a complete asshat (what, i said asshat) when it came to 'saving' bucky. Instead of negotiating with tony, who managed to get ross to back off after their first attack on bucky,he ran away which solved nothi g and just followed zemo. Then validated Stark by putting bucky on ice. At least it was BP who did it
>>
>>82730661
At first they wanted to kill him, he just wanted to give him a fair trial
Then he knew he was innocent and Zemo wanted to awake the super soldiers, so he wanted to stop all of this

He was more than justified, he was doing the right thing
>>
>>82730661
Leaving aside his friendship, Bucky is an (mostly) innocent man. If the order wasn't shoot to kill, Cap would have walked him through a fair trial (With Matt Murdock or Jessica Walters defending). Bucky is one of those special people who are worth more alive than dead. As a potential Avenger the amount of lives he can save are invaluable.
>>
No. He came off as a holier than thou asshole throughout the movie. Tony was right to be pissed at him.

but the movie comics literally have no connection to the films.
Its just Marvel comics trying to cash-in on Marvel films, something they have no real tie to, or insight into.

Marvel employees get to see the film like maybe a week before everyone else. They don't know what happens anymore than the general public, certainly not long enough to make a full comic.
>>
>>82733427
>>82733437
This >>82733360 anon is right though. In the movie tony tried to make a deal countless times. But Steve wanted no negotiation at all. Any comprimise to him was a loss. That isn't how the world works
>>
>ITT: People who hasn't watch the movie
Bucky was framed, but that wasn't the worse, the worse was that they wanted him dead, they were on a hunt to kill him, Cap only wanted for him a fair trial, even if he was guilty.
>>
>>82733484
Some of them do, for example the Avengers tie-in comic showed that War Machine couldn't come to NY because he was on a mission somewhere. And the Iron Man 2 comics showed that Howard on top of being neglectful could be physically violent with Tony sometimes, which is why he hated him so much. They're B-level of canon compared to the movies.

I almost feel like I was watching two different movies with civil war. The first half was very low key. It mostly talking with three or four very short action scenes. I found the action scenes in this half to be incredibly messy with a close, tight frame, lots of quick cuts and what feels like key frames skipped between them. Most of the time I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on.

and then we hit the second half, which consists of the airport fight scene on wards. The action was much better here, with longer cuts and better tracking on the action so I could actually tell what was happening. it reminded me more of the action in TWS.

Not really. Steve was ready to sign when they apprehended Bucky. Once his friend was safe and, as Tony offered, was going to be moved to a psychiatric facility in the states, Cap was ready to sign. At that point, he just wanted a few compromises on the Accords to grant him and his friends slightly more liberty, probably the ability to refuse orders or to act in emergencies without going through the whole chain of command. Then when he found out that Wanda was basically under house arrest and was classified (along with Vision) as a "weapon" and not as a person, he refused again.
