What kind of world do we live in, /co/?

Written by GARTH ENNIS
Art by RUSS BRAUN
Cover by STEVE DILLON
Variant cover by NEAL ADAMS

COMING IN AUGUST: In the tradition of the original Hard-Traveling Heroes, Green Lantern and Green Arrow, Sixpack and Dogwelder are ready to bring their allegedly socially aware brand of justice to the lands beyond Gotham City!

After the events of ALL-STAR SECTION EIGHT, Sixpack is fighting to keep what’s left of his team together. Dogwelder has gone in search of his past, while newlyweds Bueno Excellente and Guts are dealing with some fidelity issues. Could Section Eight be done for good?

But everything changes when a mysterious trenchcoat-wearing chain smoker offers our favorite dog enthusiast some clues about his true nature. Is Dogwelder everything he seems? Or is he meant for something greater?
On sale AUGUST 24 • 32 pg, FC, 1 of 6, $3.99 US • RATED T+

Fucking Neal Adams drew Six Pack and Dog Welder. Section Eight Oddysey when?
>>
>>82726929
>that Bueno Frankface
>>
>>82726916
This is so bizarre, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.

>Hitman will receive two spin-off minis before The Platoon comes out
>>
>>82726916
>Six pack drawn by Neal Adams

I... I never knew I wanted this.
>>
>>82726916
Nice to know Six-Pack didn't freeze to death then
>>
>>82726916
NICE. I know Section 8 sold for shit, must have done decent in trades and digital. If we can get a section 8 mini every year that would be perfect.

I understood that reference
>>
>>82727282
I don't think it's meant to be obscure.
>>
>Russ Braun
Not the best choice for this book, but apparently Ennis doesn't give two fucks about the artists he works with

Was the Section 8 mini any good? Decided to trade-wait it

OUR GOD IS A BSAED GOD
>>

It's pretty good.
Very much more of a spotlight, and whether it hits marks storywise is somewhat divided...but it's a christmas story for the whole family.
>>
Unbelievable in the best way
>>
>>82727400
>Was the Section 8 mini any good?
Holy hell was it ever! Phantom Stranger and Etrigan simultaneously rapping and shilling.
>>
>>82726916
So ASS8 technically is in continuity with All-Star Batman, right? How long until we get a future Section Eight team that goes toe to toe with DKR Batman?
>>
>>82727503
>technically is in continuity with All-Star Batman, right?

Not really, no.
>>
>>82727503
>So ASS8 technically is in continuity with All-Star Batman, right
Only if you think they're in continuity with All Star Superman
>>
>>82726916
No way, really?
Awesome.
>>
Speaking of Ennis...

https://www.humblebundle.com/books/garth-ennis-dynamite-bundle

Is it worth getting?
>>
>>82727655
If you're really desperate to have digital copies on hand.
>>
>>82727400
Fuck no. There are some good gags but mostly it's just Ennis being overly disgusting both visually and in tone because I guess he challenged himself to it. But mostly I guess I hate it because from the very start it shits on the heroic end that Sixpack got in Hitman.
>>
>>82727655
It's a pretty good deal to the entirety of Boys, plus some of his god-tier war story stuff

Personally I don't give a fuck for the digital medium
>>
>>82727738
It's fucking New 52. It's a reboot. It doesn't have anything to do with the original continuity.
>>
>>82727789
It actually continues from Hitman you dope.
>>
>>82726916
How.
How is this greenlit
I'm so happy it was.
>>
>>82726999
>implying that's bad
>>
>>82727655
I really like the Boys, though of his long-form work (Preacher, Hitman, Punisher, Hellblazer) I think it's his weakest. And if you get triggered easily by him taking the piss out of superheroes, you definitely won't like it.

I've only read his war stuff here and there in storytimes mostly, but they've all been pretty good that I've seen. He's a massive history buff and that shows in his war books.

Never read Shadow or Jennifer Blood.
>>
>>82726929
>Guts
>naked
>blatant objectification of the female form in [CURRENT YEAR]

I just can't even
>>
>>82727738
Wrong, it's a pretty well measured exploration of Ennis' gripes with current cape comics going from Batman shilling, portrayal of women, the state of Supernatural characters and the gore/swearing hypocrisy
>>
>>82727894
>>82727738
Oh and of course I forgot to mention: bringing back characters that should stay dead which is what Ennis is doing with the concept
>>
>>82727916
Who did he bring back?
>>
>>82726916
>a mysterious trenchcoat-wearing chain smoker
So, Constantine?
>>
>>82727988
Sounds like it

I hope he has an unintelligible cockney accent like in ASS 8
>>
>>82727988
Must be. The only other thing I can think of is Tommy, but I don't think he smoked, or at least wasn't a chain smoker.

But that's two of four of the Trenchcoat Brigade. Mr. E meeting Baytor when?
>>
>>82728066
Could be Willoughby Kipling, but that's not likely.

This page. This goddamn page. This goddamn issue.
>>
>>82727282
It's one of those Neal Adams tributing himself variants.
>>
>>82727400
Braun is still better than McRea's recent output.
>>
>>82728886
And thank fuck we're actually getting those trades now
>>
>>82726916
wait, this is real and not just inventive trolling?
>>
>>82731608
100% real. Enjoy it
>>
>>82731668
As one of the 8000 people who bought ASS8 in floppy, I'm confused yet delighted.
>>
>>82726916

Why does Sixpack's face look so oddly feminine.
