Didn't you hear? It's mandatory for spunky asian girls to have short hair with an unusually colored streak.

You know /co/, this show has the potential to become the next Undermeme and MLP.
Think about it...
They already have the cute bunny, redhead and blondie, and all 3 of them have cool extroverted fun-loving personalities perfect for waifu material.
All this show needs is for the cat, the dog and the black girl to take a hike because they don't fit with those other 3 spunky loving characters. Same for Maxwell Atoms to take back his crappy lol-so-randumb humour from the old CN ages, because his style doesn't fit with what Bunnicula could become.
Then again everyone who worked for the 95s Cartoonetwork were always Hollywood-rejects and below average mediocrities in the same vein of John K.
I will never understand why /co/ has such a boner for the creators of CN like Gendy, Craig, etc. but not for the great creators on FoxKids, Jetix and Warner Brothers.
I always preferred Foxkids over CN, to me CN was stuck in that eternal "What A Cartoon" period where every hack from CalArts was showing off his shitty pilot for a dumb unoriginal cartoon based on toilet humour and grotesque visuals.
>>82687626
>>82687660
>yellow skin in a cartoon means you're Asian now
>>82687933
It's a quaintly funny show that has weird character designs and body horror to compliment the waifu bait. It's one of the few ongoing cartoons I've been following, though the hiatus/overseas airings helps me get into the scene of "when's the next fucking Bunnicula".
>>82687700
Big shoes?
>>82689479
I feel you, I'm in it for the horror related plots and references aswell as the waifus/cute characters.
So, now, if Mina is dead in the Bunnicula/GTASA universe, does that mean,Chester will gundown Bunnicula at the end of the plot?, that's depressing bro.
I'm not so keen on the animation and the writing, but the backgrounds and the lightning is great.
I just watched 9 episodes.
Garlicked was the best
Muddy Harry, and Squeaky Doom were very good to watch.
Rest is hit on miss .
>>82687563
Did they say anything about the show atopping it's slice of life writing and actually aiming more for mistery adventure and exploration?
>>82690253
"Son of Bunnicula" and "Bride of Bunnicula" are some of my favorites.
"Muddy Harry" and "Garlicked" were a lot of fun, "Squeaky Doom" I feel was ok, but blew the potential of its premise.
>>82689418
Then how do you also explain the buck teeth?
>>82689755
"The streets is cold dawg. Like it says in the book, we are blessed and cursed."
>>82690505
Ah ok that gag was actualy a good one. I never seen it before.
This is a good cartoon and I'm glad it exists. I watched a few eps and it doesn't try too hard to be the next best thing or a dank meme. It's just an overall good cartoon about funny animals doing funny animal things. I can see that they tried to cater to younger kids as well, and I'm okay with that.
It's a solid show and I'd have to nitpick to come up with stuff to complain about. Basically the only way to complain about it would be to completely miss the point and assume that the show is trying to be something it isn't, or shitpost because it isn't "something else."
Maxwell Atoms' influence is also felt. I'm glad he's still around and kicking. The little horror movie references are also very nice. As for Mina I think she's good too, just a young girl with her own interests and funloving. They wrote her well. There's zero detectable bullshit in the show. Which is akin to a miracle nowadays and I salute them for avoiding politics/ideology of any sort.
Also, delicious feet and pantyhose. Or are they stockings? The less I know the more intrigued I am.
>>82691404
Yeah, it's pantyhose.

I loved the Bunnicula books as a kid. They were some of the first real books I read.
To be honest the Loud House and Bunnicula threads here are ruining both respective shows for me though so it's time to stop posting. I don't mind loliposting really because they're just cartoon characters but LH and Bunnicula threads are usually just about wanting to fuck the little girls and nothing else and the waifuing started before the shows aired so it's only about liking underage children character designs not liking anything about the characters.
>>82687563
All interest in this show crashed hard. Guess cute girls can't make up for shitty everything else.
>>82694202
I'm a lolifag but I watch it for the critters. Chester especially.
Amusingly to actually discuss the show you'd probably have to find some forum with actual kids. They probably watch it solely for the critters.
Yes, I love the word critters.
>>82694202
I like the show for the characters....well mostly Bunnicula. But then again I'm also a female
>>82694202
Both shows are ridiculously shallow and only good for cheap laughs. What IS there to talk about?
Its an easy excuse to turn your brain off for 15 minutes and then thats it.
Neither show has ANY depth that would justify any actual discussion.
>>82687933I honestly don't see the appeal in Mina to be quite honest my family.
It's a fun spooky show. I don't normally like monster of the week shows, but this one still manages to be entertaining. I think the lack of an overarching plot is replaced nicely enough with a bit of mystery. I understand that Bunnicula's origins and all the stuff with the key and Dracula really shouldn't be considered a mystery, it's a kids show and not one that tries to be Gravity Falls. But I'm still really looking forward to more plot in season 2. Muddy Harry was enough to convince me that this show definitely has a lot of potential.
And I think it's genuinely funny at times.

I like Marsha a lot, I find her godawful luck, shyness and literal fear of everything relatable, only reason she is friends with Mina is because Mina would be the kind of person to approach the lonely kid on the classroom's corner.
Their characters are polar opposites, and that makes for fun endearing interactions.
So, I dont want to see Marsha going anywhere, and it would disappoint me if this throwaway line was used to get rid of her in the future.
P.D. Becky could use some air time, whats her character? She is definetly the more confident of the three girls.
Finally got around to watching Bride of Bunnicula.>Bunnicula and Bride getting along well>Chester wants more time with Bunnicula>Bride creates vegetable army for the sole purpose of getting Chester and Harold out of the way to have more time with Bunnicula>Vegetable weren't even dangerous>Chester played up the pain caused by the prickliness>This causes the break up>Bride says she's over Bunnicula and will marry someone rich but is clearly emotionally distraught as she runs away sobbing
Chester's jealousy caused all the conflict.
Chester's jealousy was the only monster here.
>>82695051
Not gonna lie...I got pretty jealous too. Glad that bitch got away from Bunnicula. He didn't seem to care anyway
>>82694906

Okay...so bad news for today's episode:

Vampire the masquerade d10/Bunnicula adventure when?.
I don't know.
Bunnicula's powers/abilities are too broad to put him in any particular sect, for a vampire Bunnicula is way OP, and since he's Dracula's pet at some point during his lifetime, I would go by the default and say.
>"Old Clan Tzimisce/True Black Hand"
>>82700492
>for a vampire Bunnicula is way OP
Sounds pretty loyal to the source material to me. Dracula himself had such a bullshit power set himself it wasn't even funny, by comparison Bunnicula's actually fairly nerfed except to the severity of standard vampire weaknesses.

I think Mina and her dad live alone with their pets in Mina's grandmother's house. Not sure what happened to the grandmother but would assume she's dead. Anyway, that's probably just an old photo of her. She must have looked a lot like Mina, especially the aggressively unique hair.
By the way, Mina got the key around her neck in this pic, the same key that unlocked Bunnicula's chamber in the house's basement, from her grandmother. It is likely that Mina's grandmother had her own spooky adventures with Bunnicula..

here's the joke
>>82730980
Did... oh wow... did I experience that correctly? did this episode actually attempt to shake things up a bit?
They left the house, /co/. They finally left the house.
Plus all those lines and jokes and almost meta jabs and quirks and recalls.
Now if only they can manage their time better or get the 20 minute format.
A cartoon show which starts off mediocre, but gets better later on? In this day and age? /co/ hold me, I've never felt this feel, I don't know how to react.
Looks like all those monsters of the week finally wore down on Chester.
So apparently with the latest episode they're actually going to have some continuity and push for a new direction with the second season like she said in the interview.
>>82740113
>They finally left the house
They've done that a few times before...granted not for as long as in this episode, but it's nothing new.
Chester merely attempted to get rid of Bunnicula, he still didn't actually do it and didn't manage to go back to his old life.
Maybe in season 2 he'll finally get what he wants.
What is he reading, /co/?
>>82740325
Yes, but it's a start. It shows an attempt. It's not the full transformation towards mystery adventure like I want, it's still just an actiony comedic slice of life, but maybe in season 2 the focus on backstory like in this episode will fully change the storytelling and make the show more depthful and worth discussing.
Look at me, I'm already capping a few images and want to actually talk about the latest episode and not just because of Mina.
>Question Nr.1: What color is your sofa?

>>82740584
>TFW it all comes down to a "I was just pretending to be retarded scenario" and Harold becomes the main antagonist.
just daydreaming, but I do hope he becomes "smarter" as the series progresses.
Chester is an ok character, because there's a reason as to why he's so insecure and kind of a dick, he's the cliched "asshole cat", but the execution is above average, and I do really like it.
with Harold, there's nothing, I just get nothing.
either find a way for his naive nature to become endearing by adding some depth to it or give him a 180.

Am I the only one getting some Animaniacs vibes from some of the gags? Like the Mardis Gras guy.

The whole show has this "90's cartoon" feeling to it, and that's no coincidence, not only because it's a WB production (Animaniacs,Freakazoid!, Pinky and the Brain), but because Burotski grew up watching those shows, you can further see this influence in the storyboarding she did for "Wabbit".
Going a bit off the tangent.
You can only imagine how much more of a throwback this show would be if they got a proper budget for the animation department to work with, the flash like animation really hurts a cartoon show with a budget that is evidently rated low while at the same time aiming for a visual style that's way too complex for today's standards), for example, that one scene of Mina running through the hallway on "Vampire rabbit season".
Anyway, I'm glad they went for a visual style which can be quite difficult to pullout regardless of limitations, and sorry for my English, I hope whatever I just wrote made sense.

She literally The blue sad woman from inside-out
Is this one of those shows where the human protag is completely oblivious to the paranormal goings on right under their nose, either due to their own stupidity or due to the machinations of a delightful cast of furry critters and their foolish hi-jinks? '
Kinda sick of that cliche.

No she's just not involved in any of it. Really it's that simple.

For all the waifufagging, Mina is barely a main character. The show centers hard on Chester and Bunnicula. Mina is like Tom and Jerry's owner (not the shitty korean series obv.), she's just there to be their owner and move the plot along when need be.

She is oblivious, but not in a frustrating way like always turning her back one second too early or too late.
The animals make an active attempt to keep the monster away from Mina, worried that she would be scareddespite her clearly open-mind and love for all things scary and weird. That and she is usually just too focused on her spaghetti.
Really, at least two episodes have her so focused on making or eating spaghetti to notice bones flying around the room or giant slugs crawling around behind her.

>That and she is usually just too focused on her spaghetti
TOPKEK
How old is Mina? When she's outside she's as tall as most of the adults but her dad seems to be some kind of NBA All Star.

I mean the show IS called Bunnicula, is it not?

I was going to ask if it was actual spaghet, or the metaphorical kind common to those that frequent here.

>I swear, man I was just this small 10 seconds ago
>I swear dude my dick is this big
>I swear CJ. Mina's breasts will be this big when she grows up.

I loved this joke a lot.

I loved his deep as fuck voice in this part.

I love his small little backstory.

I loved this jab against Harold. He was being incredibly annoying yet again, wasting 40 seconds for his screeching humor.

The storytelling/pacing was going on well, until they once again dumped the whole time on just 1 part(the chase sequence) instead of sectioning it.
Maybe in another episode Bunnicula or Chester will actually be lost in the woods somewhere and they'll spend it there trying to find a way out against all the ghosts.
Also towards the end Harold does mention something about "Us 3 being lost, going on adventures" before Mina calls him to remind him this is still a slice of life show.
Then Chester lampshades Bunnicula's incorrigible high pitched speed up talking and then lampshades the comedy of the show when Bunnicula screws around with his body.
Pretty good, I wonder if they'll drop the toilet humour, let Bunnicula talk slower and clearer, do something with Harold's stupidity despite in the original being the wise old one.
And finally making Mina a main character and turning this show from slice of life to atmospheric mystery adventure in New Orleans like everyone wants to.

It doesn't feel like the 90s, it feels like what a normal 2000s show used to be like. Back in the 2000s they used this "Pretty Flash-like" design all the time and with a proper budget.
Overall yeah I've noticed all the budget cuts throughout the show, they love hiding the action behind a wall and only showing it through that small doorframe for comedic effect.
This episode especially has like 3 budget cuts, with the car chase sequence one being the most obvious. We don't get to see the city's backgrounds or the old lady smashing against everything she sees due to budget limitations, instead they simply zoom in on Harold banging left and right inside the car.
