I think that part of the reason Teresa is so successful is the comic seems to work way better with blunt characters than sarcastic ones. With Teresa specifically, much of her appeal comes from the "wait, what?"
The reader experiences when she says something particularly dumb and cute. A problem arises when other characters try to be snarky or quippy, as the writer feels as though sarcastic remarks have to be delivered through giant explanations that both set up and deliver future gags, when really understatement both leaves a better impact on the reader and seems more natural. I mean look, a lot of fan favorite characters seem to be the dumber, more straightforward ones, though maybe that might just be that people find them cuter. But I would argue that a 4 panel format doesn't lend itself well to some gags.

The shine is gross yeah, and the weird mouth outline doesn't make much sense either.
The eyes also seem a bit lopsided, as well as the frills. And the pupils are off as well. And the eyelids are gross, maybe realistic or whatever but who cares. Cloaca are realistic.

I think the neck is the major kicker. It looks like something out of Earthworm Jim or Wild 9, with its shading pattern. I guess one could get rid of those pointed shadows to make it a single solid shadow, but that wouldn't straight-up fix the neck.
