Krusty Krab Training Video.

Enough said.
>>
>>82563469
Not that guy, but I like it when it does a time skip and something completely and utterly over the top rediculous has clearly happened in the meantime. Like "I'm going to make toast, what could possibly go wrong" cut to 5 minutes later and the house has exploded, shits on fire yo, demons are rampaging across the city in the background, etc.

For some reason I only like that gag if it's shown after or amidst all the destruction they were successful in their small task.

Something about seeing disproportionate scale of significance and how content they are gets me. Like that joke about selling your car for gas, except here the car's totaled, the gas station is on fire and the person is walking off with a sunny look on their face.

Just when the viewer and the participants think they're in the clear an even more unimaginable hell arrives. It's tragic, but being able to laugh after those sort of things is sort of good for the mind.

That one Looney Times segment with Sam the Sheepdog and Wile Coyote as Ralph Wolf.

They'd see each other at the start, carrying their lunchboxes, say "Mornin' Ralph" "Mornin' Sam", clock in, Ralph would try to steal sheep, Sam would stop him, and then they'd clock out.

When I first saw that as a youngin, that one cartoon changed my entire sense of humor.
Truth be told, Looney Tunes is the one series of cartoons that no matter how many times I've seen an episode, it'll still have me laughing my ass off.

Unpredictable jokes are hit or miss depending on the writer, but predictable jokes have a sort of common grounds, like references.

To make an example, how many pictures Like pic related have you seen that are original jokes and pictures that are spun and twisted in funny ways?
How many deviants have you seen on "Absolutely disgusting"?
Or "He stole 40 cakes! That's as many as 4 tens!"?
Or, fuck, how many b8 pictures have you seen?

I popped a few muscle relaxers early and I forgot what point I'm trying to make. How's everyone doing tonight?

I'm fine, thanks, hope you're doing well and I also agree that overall it will always come down to how a joke is handled.
If a bunch are just thrown in to fill a quota it's going to feel stiff and patchworked but with enough proper foundation and build up even if you can see the joke coming you'll laugh often because of the pains taken to squeeze it out.

They killed Kenny is one example, especially its subversion where they either don't react to his death or react in a dismissive fashion from how often it's happened.

Food analogy time. Two people can use the same ingredients to make soup, but depending on who understands the prep and presentation more, or at all, they're going to come out with different results.

What makes Looney Tunes truly special is that they have good satire to go along with the usual slapstick and visual gags.

One of if not the most famous Looney Tunes episode of Bugs and Daffy is mostly just them who should be the butt of the slapstick by Elmer Fudd.

Baneposting is a very rich and expansive art, but my recommendations would be the "You (Don't) Get to Bring Friends videos.

To not only fully comprehend the eccentricities and nuances of this one scene, a great feat in of itself, but to actually freely add to it your own content and not sacrifice the original purposefulness, is the mark of a great artist who truly understands his work.

Though I might be biased in that a trope I love is when there is a parody episode of anime. That one South Park was pretty good.

I remember this happening with Avatar in Book 1. At first it seemed like typical tween stuff, but then they started bringing back villains from previous episodes (Zhao, the Pirates), touching on previous plot points, building story arcs, introducing grey morality and complexity to the characters (particularly Zuko and Iroh), etc.

This was one of the reasons I really liked Megamind.

Poor guy spends eternity autistically trying to fight the Superman clone and basically does everything he can to fuck him over but he was never actually evil/lethal enough for the hero to consider him a bad guy. In the end, all the heroics were done for Megamind's sake, not for justice or whatnot. At least, that's how I interpret it.

It was a nice, underrated feelgood cape movie.

>Someone does X
>Gets called out for doing X
>"What's worse, doing X, or letting Y happen?
>"Doing X!"

> characters are beaten up off screen
