Season 9 in general is great, but there's a mid season quality jump as well. The first half is floating around Season 4, while the second half is between 3 and 4 in quality.

I wouldn't call it 3 and 4 quality. It feels very different from old Spongebob, it's a lot more calmer. I would call the second half of season 9 the "third reboot" of Spongebob if you catch my drift.
