This was the best comic book movie ever made. After 14 years of misses, Spider-Man has finally done justice. I'm almost in tears
>>
Is it possible to have lower standards than OP?

Name one.

Aunt May was weird as fuck though.

Aunt May isn't supposed to be hot.
>>
>>82514539
alot of aunts can be hot and/or young

And now you know why the upcoming movie is called Spider-man: Homecoming The prodigal son has finally returned.
>>
>>82514539
Yeah it was definitely different, though it makes sense. I read the producers said something along the lines of it just making no sense that a 16 year old would have a 70+ year old aunt.

Hot May was just used for Tony quips, though.

This is why people think you're baiting
Spider-man 1 & 2 were great
>>
>>82514596

Considering Marvel has insisted on this old bag never having a final heart attack or stroke and dying in her sleep, it makes a lot of sense to cast her a lot younger.
>>
>>82514596
To be fair, MCU took liberties with Tony Stark and Nick Fury and it was way better than the comic versions.
>>
>>82514602
OK, I can respect that and, on OP's behalf, I'll say that you're right on that. but we've had a lot of bad Spidey stuff that it was obscuring those movies by a mile.
>>
Did Spider-Man even use his spider-sense in Civil War?

he reacted to Ant-man, and the thing that Bucky threw

When doesn't he use his Spider-Sense nowadays?

Yes.

>>82514365

>>
>>82514602
People are assuming I'm saying they're bad. They're not. Hell, Spider-Man 2 is still one of my favorites.

But none of them got Spider-Man as a character right.

Tobey was a great Pete, bad Spidey.
Garfield was a great Spidey, fucking awful Pete.
>>
>>82514651

Yeah. I forget the exact moment, but he did react to something coming from behind him. He also at one point didn't. Which I'm fine with. Early days.

It's hard to visualize in film.
Spider-Man 1 did it pretty well with the slow-mo, but to show that in a group film would take you out of the experience.

"Charisma Stark" has gotten old and very annoying at this point.

"Nigga Fury" is boring as fuck and SLJ is probably too old to do any of the stunts or espionage suitable for a REAL S.H.I.E.L.D. adaptation.
>>
>>82514936

Also he's been on the team for frequently than Hulk at least.

Peter straight up confirms the 15 year old thing. MCU Peter has only been Spidey for 6 months, it makes sense that he's fifteen in CACW.

In Ultimate Spider-Man he was in high school for his entire career.

He'll be 16 when his first film comes out.

He'll be in his 20s in his second solo movie.

I think we can have one film with Peter in high school, pleb.

You're just in denial since admitting that would mean you'd be forced to admit some hypocrisy on your behalf.

Example:

>>82515779
This guy is a hypocrite, because if one is good and the other isn't, then either both are good, or both are bad. It's not like Tobey MacGuire who actually WAS different, Andre Garfield and Tom Holland are, in fact, the same.

>>82515836

Is it just me, or is Captain America now basically carrying the whole rest of the MCU?

Iron Man fell apart after the first movie. The Incredible Hulk was mediocre, and so were the Thor movies. Chrisdians of the Prattlaxy is practically self-parody. The Avengers is headed downhill. And who the fuck cares about Ant-Man?

Is Cap really all that's worthwhile anymore? Because if so, that's pretty depressing.

Stark was never liked or cared about before Iron Man, so yeah. But overly charismatic womanizing Stark is played out and boring now.

I mean you're wrong about that. But even if you weren't, that's not bad. ASM2 had tons of problems but Spidey himself wasn't one of them.

This Spidey wasn't nearly as confident as Garfield Spidey. He was really out to prove himself.
>>
>>82516337

He's been solid B-List since his creation. I wouldn't go as far to say "no one cares" when he's been in every major Marvel event since the 60s and Demon in the Bottle is recognized as an iconic comic storyline.

Also I recall Marvel used Stark a lot in the 70s to help build up new characters (like Scott Lang)

I like that Spider-Man made for an interesting contrast since he's the guy who caught his Uncle's killer, but had the good sense not to let vengeance make him do something he'd later regret. He knew his role in it, he knew he'd always bear some guilt from it, but he'd go on living. Keep in mind, he's a teenager.

Meanwhile, you've got

Iron "I don't care that Bucky was brainwashed, I need to avenge my parents somehow!" Man

and

Black "Even though I live in a world where I know that supercomputers can easily manipulate digital images and that there's technology that lets you flawlessly change your facial features, I'm just going to take this surveillance footage as it is and hunt that metal-armed monster down for probably killing my dad and I'll dropkick anyone that stands in my way" Panther.

Especially since Steve was also the only one who really believed in Bucky. He was the only one who had the personal contact to confirm that Bucky was more of a victim than a hitman. It's not really common knowledge that he was brainwashed, especially when the only one who makes that claim is the one person who'd be desperate to believe it. And even if they believe he's brainwashed, they have no reason to believe he's snapping out of it.

Even better, this very process shows the weakness in Tony's ideas. Because none of the increased oversight mattered when Zemo was able to exploit the prejudices of the people making the decisions. Zemo is also a foil to the side Cap heads up, because he shows just how much damage one man can do without any responsibilities or oversight.
>>

What if I already had my good luck (this movie being great) and fine Italian cuisine (had a couple slices of pizza when I got home from the movies) before being visited by Poor Pizza Parker?

PIZZA TIME just in case there's any benefit to be gained.
>>
So one of the winter soldiers is free, right? Was it like Zemo's great great grandma or something?

I liked how they kept Spider-man powerful. It was barely a fight between him Bucky and Falcon, if he was really going all out it would have been over and done with.

This. Hopefully they don't kill him off and replace him with Miles before he gets a chance to be in some of his better stories. And hey maybe in 20 or so years Miles will have had enough time to actually become a character worth putting on the big screen.
>>
>>82514365
I really liked this iteration of Spider-Man and I am totally down with the idea of a Spider-Man imagining such as this.

But what really bothers me are the people claiming that it is like the comicbooks. Fuck no.
Even Garfield's Peter/Spider-Man was closer to the comicbooks. But since that iteration had an attitude that among other things clashed with Maguire's version and what people had somehow gotten into their heads as Peter/Spider-Man everyone decided it was nothing like the comicbooks.

Raimi's films. Good movies. Absolutely terrible adaptations.
The Amazing Spiderman. Sort of good adaptations. Very questionable movies.
MCU Spider-Man. Very enjoyable on the screen and uses the Spider-Man mythos to build a very pleasant character and interesting premise for a new imagining of Spider-Man. But it remains a poor adaptation. It's new. And that can be good, Tom Holland's Spider-Man is very promising. But it's not a good -adaptation-. Why do people claim that everything they like are like the comicbooks or that everything they dislike aren't?
How and why are these claims absolutely everywhere?
>>
>>82523408
it'd be cool to get Miles too in like 10 years

this way we can have old and young spidey, kinda like in the books rn

The difference is honestly that Holland doesn't have a skateboard.
Everyone hated the skateboard. It's somehow as if the skateboard defined the Garfield's Spider-Man for everyone to the point where everything was seen through the lenses of how he had a skateboard. As weird as that may sound.

Tony would never take the time to have a mature conversation like that because his ego is so huge that he assumes everyone will automatically understand and follow his plans. So instead Vision had to break it to her the hard way.

Just saw the movie this morning, it was pretty fucking great. Only real gripes were that Tony didn't get a chance to be right about anything, everybody bitching about really tiny numbers of civilian casualties given the scope of the situations, and Wanda/Vision just sort of getting lost and doing nothing for significant chunks of the big showdown.

Best Disney Marvel movie but still not that great. Could have cut 30 mins (especially from the first half) but I say that about most movies so it might not be fair. Easily best Spidey though which is kind of sad. Same vibe I got from Affleck Batman. Should have gotten much more Parker imo.

stop this cringey headcanon you have of peter being an introvert just so you can feel you're more like him
he was a nerd, but he was just as much of an asshole back to his classmates as they were to him, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind to them
>>
>>82515201

The first thing he does is ask out Sally Avril, that's not introverted. Flash and company also invite him out to places later in that run and they hardly bully him, just bust his balls at the worst. Peter did it to Flash too.

Are you one of those autists who can't read faces? You gotta be.

You used the outline of his puffy hair to match the outline of the mask in the superimposed middle image. That's fucking retarded. His hair and ears are pressed down by the mask. So, the proportions of the mask resemble those you's get if you shaved his head and cut of his ears... and voila, the eyes are in the right place again.

You just can't see it because you suffer from autism.
