Im torn between

Christ alive.

I get that they're trying to go with some Movie synergy here in trying to give him a funny line a la Guardians of the Galaxy's character banter but fuck me is this an awful attempt.

I really wish they wouldn't. For some characters, like Stark, it's great. Nor for Doc Strange.

Speaking of Stark, I wish they'd get the style of humour right at fucking least.

RDJ's Stark when written at his best plays the humour in a very dry way, with some of his amusing lines just being in the middle of a sentence.

I love the MCU but I hate what it's done to Marvels comics.

I dunno, call me weird, but with a title like "SORCERER SUPREME" I'd want a little less levity out of him.

Besides, I've always seen most of Stark's Quips as him more amusing himself than trying to make the people around him laugh, but maybe that's just me.

>Why do villains get the best lines?
It is often the scale and grandeur of their act of antagonism that propels the protagonist to react. They are not necessary, but when used well they are compelling for the writer, characters and readers because their very character is to defy the mundane and your expectations.

Bendis? Seriously?

I only say because he has written legit decent comedic moments before.

Like in Ultimate Spider-Man.

This is why writers should be more like Grant Morrison or Alan Moore. Not writing comics unless they have a legit good idea for where it is going instead of just having it foist upon them.

It legitimately bothers me knowing there are countless people out there who have sick ideas for comics that will never get realised because Marvel and DC insist on giving gigs to people who have had a good run here or there in the hp that they will catch lighting in a bottle twice.
>>
>>82507307

Judge Dredd comics are criminally underrated

Fucking criminally

Legit one of the best written characters in comic history, but outside of the UK noone fucking knows him.

Hell, I'd doubt most of the people I know here in Blighty know of him despite the fact he's been referenced in Parliament on more than one occasion

Origins
The Day the Law Died
Cursed Earth
Dark Judges
Robot Wars

I'd start with America or Origins if you're new to Dredd. America if you want that narrowed down

The crossovers they did with Batman are enjoyable if not stellar too

Same with Predator and Alien

One of the things I love about 2000ad is that everthing is canon. So him fighting Batman is canon. Him fighting the Xenomorphs is canon.

I believe they actually referenced the Alien story in a much later one

People take this comment like an excuse for the person to act like an ass regardless of what others say.

IT'S CALLED BELIEVING IN YOURSELF, PEOPLE. YOU GOT DOUBTERS AND YOU HAVE TO PROVE THEM WRONG.

Now whether that's winning a race you have no chance of winning or committing mass genocide, that's entirely up to that person.
