I really don't know.
It's one of those faux prestige things, like Marvel does. When you give a character a legacy identity it's supposed to somehow "legitimize" them, like making Falcon into Captain America. Plus it's easy to point to them for things like "Captain America is Black!" or "Green Lantern is a Latino Woman!"
When in reality it does the opposite. It takes a character that could have (or sometimes has already) stood on their own and makes them stand in another character's shadow. And since in comics the status quo is king, every single reader knows that they're only temporarily going to be focused on.
Green Lantern is different from a lot of heroes because there can be multiples at the same time, but that just has it's own issues.
We can only hope it is swiftly undone and she goes back to being a paranoid schizophrenic shutin.

I guess that rampage when she first got the ring was a one-time thing. The evil ring was half of what made the character interesting.
Man I loved her as Power Ring. Having to constantly keep the ring in check, having a mix of fear and will. The fear is still there because you don't just overcome it, especially when you have a Daemonic Ring that reminds you of it.
Also her interaction with the spirit of Harold Jordan, who keeps trying to get her go down his path. Teaming her up with Baz (why haven't they replaced his ring with a functional one?) would be great, if she'd remained PR instead a GL. Also her uniform was CUTE.
