The story with him and Raven's mom is that he appeared as a man who she found attractive, then after their wedding showed his true form, and then they had sex. We never actually see the sex scene but right before it when he transforms she has a horrified expression and is clearly not OK with the situation.

Anyway I don't actually like her animated version like in OP. The writers tried very, very hard to make her dark and anti-social. When I watched the show I found her more annoying than mysterious or sympathetic.
I later started reading the 80's comics series, and there I actually do like her, she's a lot more believable and well-written in my opinion. I mean, I understand that any Raven incarnation of any amount of moodiness and edge is believable when you take into account all the shit surrounding her, but the animated version just wouldn't stop with that and didn't adequately explain anything about her until later in the show. Maybe if I had read the comics first and known the character before watching the show I'd have never been bothered by it and would have a different opinion.
