Being a yuropoor, I never grew up with Marvel or DC, and never really took interest in their stuff before now. I've read some about Doctor Strange, and it all sounds bretty good, but I have no fucking idea of where to start. Any recommendations?

>I never grew up with Marvel or DC,
Then don't bother. Keep reading all that good Euro shit.

Strange Tales #110I'm serious.

For a basic, simple introduction, I would absolutely recommend the first couple of Lee/Ditko stories. They are seriously some of the best from that era.
After that, Dr Strange & Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment and Dr Strange: The Oath are the most common recommendations. There was a recent New Avengers Annual that was pretty great.
Triumph and Torment is the pinnacle of Doctor Strange in my opinion, and has the best telling if his origin. The original Lee/Ditko stories are great too, but they're mostly printed in black and white

Plus dat Mignola art

Is there a good RECENT Doctor strange with an origin story?
Ditko's original run and Englehart's later stuff is GOAT.
Ditko: Strange Tales #110–111, 114–146
Englehart: Marvel Premiere #9 - 14, Doctor Strange V2 #1 - 18
Why do you want to start Dr. Strange?
Because movie?

I wonder what he'll think when he finds out that the movie has no magic.

DAE ruin the only thread on the board with the potential to discuss comics?

Mysticism has always been a big interest of mine, and Dormammu looks cool.

There is no good recent Doctor Strange

Do you know his appearances in Ditko's other Marvel works? Notably Spider-Man

/tv/ you may be surprised to learn that /co/ often has recommendation threads for comics as helping people find what good stories exist for characters is the only way we can breathe life into our dying medium.
Besides Triumph & Torment, Englehart's run and Lee/Ditko's run that were already suggested, I would also recommend Roger Stern's run in Dr. Strange: Master of Mystic Arts. Given he is the same author of Triumph & Torment, it should tell you it is a really good run.
Plus check Into Shamballa.

Amazing Spider-Man Annual #2 is his only major guess appearance drawn by Ditko IIRC. It's essentially Spidey guest starring in a Strange story.
They actually include it in the Doctor Strange Marvel Masterworks volume which was really cool.
>>82423548
The Oath is a decent intro to the character.
>>82423705
Would you happen to have a download link to colored Ditko reprints?
>>82422526
Strange has gone thought a lot of phases.
This is where he watched too much Dragonball and tried to become Satan.
In the 90's he tried to be Ozzy Osborn.

Variety is the spice of life.

Among other things.

Not that anon, and I don't think it includes the Ditko run, but there is this:
