Except that is barely a factor. Have you even read it? For one, Kree cancer isn't human cancer. The issue they ran into wasn't that Richards and Beast didn't know how to cure cancer, but that any kind of treatment for the cancer required Mar to remove his nega-bands, but the nega-bands were the only thing keeping him alive.
If they tried to take off the bands to treat the cancer, then Mar would instantly die. If they didn't remove the bands, their power would keep any treatments from working.
The book is about the inevitability of death, and that even the greatest of heroes can fall to illness along with the importance of being able to accept death when your time comes. It isn't about "why doesn't Reed Richards just cure cancer?"

Anyway, maybe one of the original trilogies might get a fourth movie, Cap 4 would be great since he already has a great supporting cast with Bucky/Falcon/Sharon and his third movie was kinda hijacked by the Avengers (in a good way).

Captain Mar-Vell of the Kree military was a spy sent to study and undermine Earth's defenses for invasion. Between Earth being a pretty swell place and his supervising officer being a dick he switched sides and became a superhero committed to protecting Earth. Has history with Thanos.
