Guggenhack can't write good female character development. Laurel and Thea going from annoying at best to the well rounded characters they became was in spite of the showrunners, not because of them. Of course that means they have to be pushed to the background to make way for the star of the show Felicity. Of course we can't have Green Arrow end up with Black Canary like in the comics, lets kill her off and have her dying words be in support the true star of the show, Felicity.

Willa Holland is a pretty decent actress when they actually let her act, but for some reason the showrunners insist on her entire character being defined by either romance or addiction narratives. It's boring as fuck.

Normally I agree, and the constant hating on female characters here is really tiresome. But in recent months I've actually been finding Felicity pretty intolerable. She was fine last episode though, because she toned down the drama and yelling and the show didn't make her the focus for once.
