You should check out the original 52 weekly series. It's a pretty great exercise in shining the spotlight on characters that don't normally get a lot of focus, and more to your point, it's a series that carries on entirely without the presence of Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman.

Been trying to keep up to date with his New 52 stuff but after a few issues after Death of the Family I kind of gave up. Other than that I have the most of the essentials, Killing Joke, Year One, Dark Knight Returns.
Batman's most redeeming aspects are his villains. Until they start playing up more on his detective skills and less on his plot armor of convenient reaction time his not going to be in DC's top 5, or even top 10, interesting characters.
Hell 2 of three of the Blue Beetles are far more interesting than Batman.
