I'm very skeptical about this. On one hand, I hate Dominator because she has no personality beyond being a little silly, having a giant ego, and being evil. She comes off as being quirky for the sake of being a villain on a kid's show, rather than an actual character with motivation for her actions. On the other hand, I REALLY want to like her, especially since the series is ending and there's gonna be a lot of focus on her. There's also the fact that, while it is pretty obvious waifu bait, I find her design really cute. I really really hope they can reasonably give her a more tolerable personality; something more logical than being whacky while also wanting to destroy everything in the galaxy for fun. I mean, she can be sadistic, that's fine, but "I'M EVIL BECAUSE I'M EVIL" isn't a very interesting personality.
Maybe this can be the start of Dominator transitioning from being a terrible ultra-generic villain to being a villain who has a personality. I know I shouldn't, but I'm holding high hopes for this episode. However if they ruin this, I'll lose all hope for Dominator.

I actually like that Dominator is simple? I get pretty sick of the 'Woe is me I was mislead into being evil! And also sexy!' stuff that happens to a lot of younger lady bad guys. She's evil because she enjoys the thrill of it, good enough for me.
And if she's simple it makes for a wonderful contrast to Wander. Both in the similarity (simple desire to hurt/help takes them to insane extremes of action) and how much of a challenge that is for someone who wants to befriend everyone. Hater is pretty clearly unhappy with himself deep down, easy enough to make sense of. Help Hater feel better about himself and he stops hurting people.
I don't want that to work for Dominator. Part of why Wander Over Yonder works so well is that it isn't afraid to challenge Wander's ideals.

Having a character with absolutely zero flaws, both physically and emotionally, is extremely boring.
I don't need them to go through her backstory or anything; however, if she's the type of person who would want to just take a night off in some random city with some stranger, why would she also want to completely obliterate everyone and everything in the galaxy without question? You're comparing someone's taste in horror movies to someone literally actively attempting mass genocide upon an entire galaxy. There is an incredibly vast difference between the two.
It's more than her just watching cartoons, it's the fact that she's silly and quirky with a good sense of humor, but at the same time is super serious and methodical, but at the same time is willing to absolutely destroy everyone and everything for no good reason. Her personality traits only exist to move the plot along; while that in itself isn't a bad thing, it's the fact that her only role is to move the story and nothing else. She herself has a boring, generic personality; you know what she's gonna do next at every turn, you know she's gonna win every fight because she's literally invincible, she has no flaws, but they still expect us to think the whacky silly goofy personality is funny.
Having a character who is murderous and wants to kill everything, but at the same time, is goofy and silly, just reeks of poor writing. There has to be some reason why she enjoys entertainment while at the same time wanting to completely eradicate the galaxy which said entertainment comes from.

Dominator is a huge nerd. That's it really. She's a hugely enthusiastic nerd that read the Evil Overlord List and took it to heart, except for all the bits that get in the way of being dramatic and awesome. She's methodical because she's a nerd, she's hyper because she's a nerd, she likes cartoons because she's a nerd, she's dramatic as hell because she is a GIANT NERD. A min-maxer, to boot. Wander Over Yonder plays the villains as pretty basic themes, archetypes for the more complicated ones that keep showing up. Hater is a teenager that needs to be Cool, Emperor Awesome is a skeevey party animal frat dude, and Dominator is the Nerd that figured out all the loopholes and breaks the whole game so she can Win better than anyone else.

The difference between Dominator and other villains like Hater and Awesome is that Dominator has literally no flaws at all. He has both emotional and mental flaws which makes him interesting; he doesn't have so many flaws that they outweigh his strength, but at the same time, he isn't so incredibly powerful that it's impossible for him to fail. Same with Awesome; he has a giant ego, but that actually causes him to over-estimate his ability and fail. He's also a douchebag, so he can't smooth talk his way out of shit. He also has less firepower than Hater; still, he's a formidable enemy to Hater.
Meanwhile, Dominator is perfect from every single possible angle. She has a giant ego, but she has everything she could need to back this up. She's beautiful, she knows it, she's a smooth talker and uses her looks to her advantage, she's brilliant (assuming she made the ship herself), she's insanely powerful and capable of literally destroying planets while safe and sound inside her ship, she has an army of regenerative robots, she has a good sense of humor, she doesn't care about Wander, she gained ice powers from being frozen alive, and the only thing she seems remotely interested in is exterminating everybody, the only motivation for which she has is "for fun". She's an extremely boring, poorly written character. There's nothing to her but how perfect and powerful she is.

Part of me wonders about Dominator and her ship. It always struck me as odd that she's flying solo - she has *bots*, sure, but there's no one else. Even in the end credits for My Fair Hatey, she was shown doing all the maintenance and cleaning on the ship too. It seems kind of odd that she's so alone.

Her usefulness is that she's the first true villain of the show. She's the force of nature.
Throughout the first season and fair amount of second, Wander solved problems in ways no one would think would work, like turning villains good, saving planets, etc.
His usual methods of song and dance doesn't work on Dominator, and Wander is for the first time stumped on how to approach this, and neither do any of us.
Maybe they'll make her more sympathetic or give her more depth in the future, but as of right now, she's playing the bad guy role and I think that's good enough.

Tbqh I just watched this show and it's kind of mediocre.
It's basically what the people who hate adventure time think adventure time is.
Plus they use 2 comedy duo cliches (one for the villain and one for the protagonist) which is annoying as hell.

Pegasus was never truly evil though to be fair. He was trying to bring back his love and was driven insane as a result, which was why he had Relinquished and Thousand-Eyes Restrict in his Toon deck. Once he was defeated, he finally accepted that he will never bring her back and became an ally.

I watched 'The Picnic' first.
Episode predictable to the bone, with annoying , untouchable main character pissing off big baddie and foiling his plans without even trying.
Done in tones of other cartoons.
Then I watched 'The Fugitives' and I knew Ill stay for the rest of the show.
Without Sylvia that show would be nearly unwatchable for me.
She brings a balance to Wonders antics, I feel.
Their chemistry is amazing.
10/10 I love that Zbornak.
