I mean, who knows. If he'd been given a larger part in the story I'm sure there'd have been some moment where he screwed the pooch in some big way too, but as it stands I can't think of such a moment in the comic itself. The only moment one could make the argument that maybe applies is when he lost his fight with Eridan, but that was just a matter of brashness on Sollux's part, wanting to look like a tough guy by fighting the dude with the unimaginably powerful gun whilst he himself was unarmed. And even then, once it had happened, he didn't whine or weep about it, he just soldiered on and did what needed to be done when the time came.

Caliborn's unfortunate in that he's destined to be an enemy to defeat because of his endlessly destructive nature, Calliope's unfortunate in that she was paired with him from birth and lost the will to fight him because she was presented with friendship and erroneously assumed he'd be capable of it.
Also, you're seriously simplifying the cherubs. Pretty sure Aranea even said "good" and "evil" are too simple of labels. Red cherubs are prone to destruction and green cherubs are prone to protection, like Derse and Prospit or Time and Space. It's a consistent theming. I'm sure there are much nicer red cherubs than him and much grouchier green cherubs than her.
