So, let me get this straight. Ms. Bellum isn't allowed

So, let me get this straight.

Ms. Bellum isn't allowed in the PPG reboot because she's too sexy, but we can have 5 year old girls twerking?
>>
>>82023997
Its pretty retarded, isnt it?
>>
Ms. Keane's still in it, and she's sex personified.
>>
>>82024188
I don't see what Anita being your personal boogeyman has to do with the creators of the PPG reboot being hypocritical pedos.

Manchildren and Tumblristas
They clearly wanted to get on the SU and AT moneytrain, which definitely shows that they do want the same demographic/age group, but they completely ignored (or didn't understand) what made those things so interested
>>
You just don't understand, it's empowering
>>
>>82024984
What's with people automatically thinking twerking is "sexuality"?
At this point it's just a stupid dance anybody does for no good reason other than it being a stupid dance.
>>
>>82024932
Dead Inside
>>
>>82025147
No
It's never not been about being a dance to show off your butt
Literally never, no matter how anyone tries to spin it
Even if there is a small and almost vocal section of people who twerk and believe it's about empowerment, they are far from being the majority, which means that twerking is far from being about empowerment or anything more than just an excuse to show off your ass
>>
>>82025147

It's literal ass shaking. It's meant to be a sexy move. It's not the Stanky leg. It's not the slide. It's "Squat and bounce my ass cheek".

It's like claiming Tango isn't meant to be sensual.
>>
>>82025147
Twerking is practically a mating call. It is presenting and shaking your ass around for the attraction of men.

It wasn't about her being sexy, it was about her being a strong and skilled woman under the mayor. Yes, even though by the same logic, say, Long Feng is not a strong male character because he's technically under the Earth King.

>>
>>82025307
Nobody here is morally outraged by twerking
Feel free to move goalposts and set up strawmen for you to screencapture and present to your shill overlords, but nobody here is mad about the fact that they are twerking

Just read the thread
We find it hypocritical to remove a female character simply because she's so smart and effective at her job it's demeaning that she has a boss who can't do anything, you know, to show the kids a positive message
And then have the 5 year olds twerking, because somehow that is also a positive message
>>
>>82025427
I wouldn't call it "offensive", it's more just a major sign of just how completely out-of-touch the creators are. It's a ridiculously topical and dated cultural reference being performed for no reason by laughably unfitting characters, and the sexual undertone just adds another layer of creepiness to the whole thing. It sounds like the sort of thing Robot Chicken would make up as a joke, and yet here it is.
>>
So, are they gonna have them poledancing in the next reboot?

Twerking has been a mainstay in club dancing since the 80's. It's like skanking at a ska concert or line dancing at a western bar.

They definitely are (judging by the content and plot of every episode so far), but even if they weren't, why include messages that aren't positive and wouldn't non-positive messages that are frequent and as readily understood sort of minimize the effect of the positive messages?
>>
>>82026240
You need to stop trying to interpret everything as a message. You're making yourself look like a fumbling autist.
>>
>>82026236
But Korea is already butchering it, Japan will fix it just like they did when Filmation fucked things up.
>>
>>82026367
"Message" is just a short way of saying things people impart and understand from experiencing things
Everything has a "message", whether intentional or not
Your problem is that you're taking the term to literally for the argument

Calling me an autist and not understanding this simple social system that basically everyone understands except apparently you isn't the best way to prove you're not autistic yourself
That's basically just projection
>>

Twerking isn't actually funny
Making a reference to something that exists in real life without it having any substance other than "it also exists in this show and the characters are interacting with it", has never been funny

They might as well have been planking, eating bacon wrapped sriracha flavored sushi, doing the harlem shake, or literally any social phenomenon from the past 8 years

And before you say "this show isn't FOR you, YOU'RE not in the demographic, this show is meant for kids"
It's literally not
They want the same audience that Adventure Time and Steven Universe have
I'm in that demographic
>>

East Asians, like some parts of the old country, have a very clear cut concept of social circles. You are either an outsider, or part of the family. This has nothing to do with being xenophobic; they treat each other within their society this way. Once you are accepted into the family, even as a foreigner, Asians can be the warmest people in the world. They value family structure. They don't force kids out at 18, nor do they send the elderly to die in hospices.

Westerners going to any Asian country and expecting preferential treatment, and believing one shouldn't have to work to become part of the inner circle, is arrogant.

What East Asians are, are nationalist.

I am. I think twerking is boorish and disgusting anywhere, but showing and encouraging kids to twerk? Jesus fucking christ.

It reminds me of that "bump" dance which was literally just dry humping on the dance floor. Only difference being that was essentially fake to make news stories and twerking is very fucking real.

Kids these days are already hitting puberty earlier and earlier for one reason or another, if they've got no sex education and this shit is happening at parties they're gonna have unsafe sex

So? With that logic, you shouldn't have any characters do anything in any show because of "the children".

You're a fucking simpleton.

Children can't actually shoot eye beams or withstand flying through walls and kids understand this. Despite their capacity for mimicry kids tend to actually be pretty smart when it comes to knowing the difference between what's real and what's not. Kids also like to dance.

Having the PPG twerk is something kids will imitate.

Having the PPG smack people around is something kids will PLAY.

So kids are smart enough to not fight other people despite the PPG doing it in every episode, but they're stupid enough to all be encouraged to twerk after seeing less than 5 seconds of it in this?
If it's alright for kids to play fight, why would them doing stupid dances be any less alright? In the same logic that this dance 100% encourages sexual acts, play fighting would also 100% encourage violence among kids, cause you're ignoring how often the girls actually punch and kick things for your own convenience.
You're jumping through hoops to demonize this, despite plenty of other things worth complaining about from this, and you're ignoring context, despite that being a large part of its occurrence.
>in the show, they're twerking for all of 5 seconds, so really it makes twerking look like something everybody should do all the time, and needs to be removed from the eyes of the children for their own sake
I have plenty of words to describe the level of autism this thought requires.

Throwing things, punching, kicking, using things as weapons.
All things that the PPG do, every episode, and can be imitated in some way or form by kids to actually hurt other people.
If you argue that 5 seconds of the girls doing a stupid dance, in a very specific circumstance, is always going to encourage kids to do that stupid dance, then you are in the same boat of people who argue that cartoons with violence will encourage kids to be more violent, no matter the circumstance. It's a silly dance in a silly situation that's being blown way out of proportion just to have something else to complain about. If you actually paid attention, I haven't said anything about whether the dance is "bad for kids", I'm talking about how it's not going to somehow turn kids into sexual deviants after seeing this show.

Because it's fucking awful and easy to spot. Hell even in the Hobbit part two during the battle when they're in the barrels you could tell the difference between the GoPro sections which represented their viewpoint and the parts filmed on camera.

Whoever was the editor for PPG should be fired for letting such crap get by. For fuck sakes in that same scene with Mojo and his dog, the dog magically switches to the other side of him when they show a different angle without making an indication it had moved there. This all done on computer so they could easily fix this stuff meaning there's no excuse for being this sloppy. This isn't like the 80's where most of the cartoons were glorified commercial for toys so the lack of budget along with it being handmade would lead to animation errors and people not giving a shit because they existed to sell toys. It's okay for a cartoon child to do it, because rabid feminists aren't intimidated and challenged by a child that can't compete with them in the dating market. It's why they axed Bellum. They hated her because they ain't her. Femme Fatale won't be seen, either, for the same reasons. Has Sedusa shown up yet, because I'm pretty sure she won't be here outside of those promo shots.
