So now that RID is done with its second season, what are your thoughts? It's been confirmed we're getting a third season in Autumn alongside the movie, which is good.
Personally, I love how the previous story from WFC, FOC, and Prime have an effect on the story for RID, like how the entire thing is post-war and intentionally small scaled.
Mini-cons were handled fabulously. Despite being kid appeal collect em all midgets, they and their stories were surprising tolerable. They had agency and personality unlike Armada, but were aware of their lower place in the Cybertronian totem pole unlike Jolt...
The humans were AMAZING how little they interfered, and only when they necessary. Episodes would go by without Denny or Russell, so when they returned I wasn't immediately mad. Aside from the exception of Russell in the Saberhorn episode, they knew exactly when to get the fuck out of the way.
My hopes for season 3 are more development for Steeljaw and Glowstrike, and backstories for Sideswipe and Grimlock. Mainly I want them to be legacy characters- Sideswipe was Fastlane who was injured and renamed himself after his hero from the war stories- Sideswipe. Grimlock can be a Dinobot who was named after the progenitor of the clan- FoC Grimlock and his Dynobots.

I really like how they ended Steeljaw. A cunning collective guy going frustratingly mad enough to howl was great. Also liked how Fixit got to play a bigger role.
I hope the new seasons will do something about the new regime on Cybertron Optimus is going to investigate. They seem to want to make Optimus out as the shit-stain of Cybertron. If TFA Sentinel ends up in RiD for that reason, my rage will be endless.

Eh, the writing I found is pretty solid. There's no bullshit reasons to take the humans along (like only they can hear the macguffin or to explain shit to them) and Fixit is pretty content to stay at the scrapyard.
Earthaboo Bee and cop Strongarm cover most needs for humans, while Denny and sometimes Russell run interference with other humans. Out of the way, but not useless.

RID Season 2 was actually pretty good, better than Season 1.
Glowstrike and Saberhorn jobbed unfortunately but Steeljaw was just fantastic, his defeat was so satisfying.

It was mentioned making it animated too high of a frame rate doesn't look good with 2D style. You can see some of that effect when Windblade is flying in some scenes where the frame rate was boosted. It really doesn't blend well.
