Have you noticed that girls can save boys now, but boys can't save girls anymore?

What was the last kids' movie that had a boy saving a girl?
>>
Finn still saves princessess all the time in Adventure Time

Zootopia.

Adventure Time is for fat teenagers.

pretty good point m8

gonna be kind of fucked if kids pick these messages up since, you know, women are actually generally kind of weak and shitty and need saving in dangerous situations; be a shame to see a bunch of strapping young men be like "well movies said we're equal so ya'll bitches be on your own" and ditch them (or worse, be like "so hurry up and save me you dumb whore")
>>
Pretty sure Zootopia's climax had Nick literally carrying Judy around for a bit because she couldn't run. Seems he was also kind of responsible for switching the serum with blueberries. Maybe other shit too but I saw it a while ago.

So that feels pretty even to me.

Is it a hard life being this insecure?

When Tangled came out, at least a couple professional critics commented that Flynn never saves Rapunzel, because the hero rescuing the damsel is apparently going out of style.

Aka everyone on this site

Frozen

Maybe not going out of style, but incredibly boring because it's been done so often it's repetitive

He sacrifices his life to free her from Gothel at the end
>>
>>81957872
It's most fun when they save each other using their individual strengths.
Like what Zootopia does in the very scene OP chose as an example.

That was so dumb. Why could he cut her hair AFTER she healed him?

I wonder how long until "gynocentric propaganda for castrated males" guy shows up.

Well now I feel stupid.

If I remember correctly, didn't she cut her hair to get free from Gothel's grip?

>implying humans had any worthwhile imagination for most of their history
The concept of causality in fiction is relatively new. Old myths and stories were just

>and then this happens and then this happens and then this happens and then this happens

Plus, all the worthwhile genres came about in the 20th Century or close to it. The mystery genre is less than 150 years old. Sci-fi only started being worthwhile in the 50s or so.

As soon as he tears himself away from feminist frequency tweets and starting every other sentence with "Actually...."

It was the opposite. Penelope saved Ralph.
>>
>>81957929
Gothel suddenly shriveled up when her hair was cut; his wound probably would have come back too.
>>
>>81958407
He had to go back amd save her because she was the only one who couldn't leave her game. The whole "I'm bad and that's good" speech at the end was when he was making his heroic sacrifice.

He's the bargaining chip, anon. He's taking the power out of Gothels hands by killing himself and taking the choice away from Rapunzel, who he doesn't want to see get punished. It's a snap decision while he's bleeding to death and he was just told his girlfriend's going to be montagued for the rest of her immortal life.

Incidentally I hate when people ask why a character does action A instead of action B when action B would be more rational, as if characters should be written as perfect rational logic machines that make the most efficient decision at every opportunity or it's just poor writing. It's just such an autistic question that completely ignores how drama and emotion and storywriting and how real life humans work. The real answer is, if they did action A, then there wouldn't be a fucking story.
