Pitch me a Superman Movie. Something you legitimately believe would work for an actual feature film that you expect to be a financial/critical success

So you can't say something like "I'd adapt All-Star Superman" because realistically it would not work in the construct of a movie

Outside of that though, you can do anything you want. As long as Superman's the center of the story

Go!
>>
I'd adapt All-Star Superman as a four part film series.

Send Superman to War World and let him punch the fuck out of Mongol.

Morrisons action run mixed with the DCAU Krypton opening. Weaker Superman than people are used to who has to stop a much bigger threat in Brainiac. He has to fight Metallo earlier in the film and has a few heroic moments where he stops the bullet train. Superman reverses Braniac shrinking technology and Metropolis is saved. Superman has to escape Brainiacs exploding ship but he takes time to find Kandor. As he is about to escape a large explosions rocks the bottle out of his hands and it plummets towards earth. Superman jumps after it desperate to catch it before it hits the ground, at the last second superman grabs it and pulls it towards him and ascends in an upwards arc and that's where Superman learns he can fly
>>
At this point, I'd rather have a Krypto movie. Something like Krypto getting lost and having to find Superman. I'd rather not have an epic movie and would settle for something that would make me say "Neato."

Start the movie with the rocket landing. Focus on the Kents and have a proper Pa Kent. First half of the movie concentrates on the things that made him Superman. We learn things about Krypton as Clark learns them. Second half is him arriving in Metropolis and establishing himself. It would obviously be a series, so the villains would escalate with each movie. The first movie would have Toyman

Also, the costume would have All-star style red trunks.
>>
Movie one is the rise of Lex Luthor, and showing him and Clark growing up with one another. Lex Luthor is top dog in Metropolis when Clark shows up, who starts out as a blogger just trying to make it as a journalist. Supermanstarts threatening corrupt cops, ceos, and stuff, and Superman becomes more and more popular in Metropolis as CLark's blog and work for the Daily Star starts taking off. Luthor's star starts to fade and he has Metallo and Parasite made, and Superman's powers finally manifest to their fullest as he fights off the two. Even though Luthor's star has faded due to negative publicity, nothing can stick, and he swears revenge. Movie ends with Clark getting a job at Daily Planet and meeting Lois.

Basically it's a mixture of Morrison's Action Comics, Secret Identity, and Birthright. As it should be.

Well it wouldnt be another origin story he's definetly already an established hero. Metropolis would be a gargantuan place filled with all the latest sciencey stuff, brought to you by Lexcorp and it's numerous rivals, namely Star Labs.

Maybe space bounty hunters are sent for him? Some rouge thanagarians, Bolphunga, and Lobo?

I don't know what to do for a B-Plot, maybe Clark and Lois invetigating Luthor again?

Rather than these aliens being kept on Earth, a lantern shows up to take them away

Golden age superman.

Metropolis looks like the city in the move Metropolis.

No modern technology. Ever.

No revisionist 'how would this really work' deconstruction bullshit.

Rocket ships with fins.

Biplanes. Ham radio. King Kong. Ocean liners.

Art deco chrysler building type shit.

Red shorts.

Suit is not shiny or high tech looking. Looks like a tight thin cotton sweater.

Lex luthor for first movie villain.

After that its bizzaro and mr myxpxlyx

then Brianiac for the third movie.

Much of the focus is on Lex Luthor, dealing with his cynicism and hate of Superman. The conflict comes from him using media connections and setting up Supes to look like a bad guy and convince the public that Superman holds back the human race. Lex somehow gets rid of Superman through kryptonite cage shenanigans, and as soon as Superman is gone, Zod shows up and terrorizes the world. Lex, seeing this as an opportunity to prove himself, powersuits up and tries to fight Zod. Hundreds of civilian casualties, billions of dollars in damage (something like the end of MoS, except this is showing why it's bad to fight that way), and eventually gets completely smashed. While this was going on, Jimmy and Lois were infiltrating Lexcorp. They free
Supes, catch him up, and Superman takes care of Zod quickly and easily. He'll try to phantom zone him, but Zod will blow up the door or something and say he'll never stop trying to conquer the planet. Superman pleads with Zod, but, realizing both his insanity and the danger he poses, kills him. Superman holds a press conference where he has some kind of speech akin to pic related.

Death of superman

We see superman being all based and shit, then Doomsday shows up and kills him, have the classic origin and have Supes die at the end of act 1, act 2 has the four different supermen rising up and shit, act 3 is cyborg superman destroying coast city from the battle with mongul, green lantern goes evil at the end, superman revival teased at the end

Return of superman
Act 1 is everyone trying to stop parallax, they stop him but Cyborgie turns evil and tries to kill everyone in act 2, in the middle out of nowhere supes comes back, act 3 is sups v cyborg supes

Rocket leaves exploding planet. Lands in rural Kansas. Found by young couple.

Child-raising montage ensues covering the first two decades of Clark Kent's life. Demonstrate powers early in childhood. Doesn't get sick. Speed, strength, Super senses. Leaps across cornfields in a single bound. Clark shooting cans with his father, Jon using a rifle, Clark using heat vision. Clark, now a young adult, departs for Metropolis, to pursue his journalism career and use his powers to save people and fight injustice where he sees it.

Following this, we use Morrison's Action Comics as a blueprint, where the first section is Superman as an unstoppable juggernaut, saving people, building houses for people who have lost their houses, throwing CEOs with abusive business practices off of skyscrapers(and catching them before they leave a mess on the street), and being an unstoppable force of nature acting as a champion for the oppressed.

Before the first hour mark, we move to the national scale, where a legion of wealthy individuals concerned about Superman airing all their dirty laundry in public are putting pressure on members of Congress, who in turn push for the Pentagon to research anti-Superman measures. Introduce Lex Luthor, who begins fielding various anti-Superman weaponry, both manned and automated as an experiment to see what can bruise the Man of Steel. In the action sequence set in at the top of the first hour, we see Superman fighting things in his general weight class for the first time, and during this battle, Clark finally unleashes the ability to fly.

Superman learns to exercise restraint in his activities, understanding that he himself cannot act unilaterally. Further investigations lead him to discover infestations by Brainiac, and the final battle is in space. Lots of faceless cyborgs for Superman to tear through with impunity.

Throw an ideal, heroic Superman into an ugly cynical world, and have him come out believing the world is still worth fighting for.

New 52 Action Comics first storyline. Young Supes fucking around in Metropolis with nothing to seriously oppose him. Luther is brought in to test his durability when he visits te military and we see their rivalry form. Ultimately culminates with Brainiac showing up and Superman still unable to fly using a home made jetpack built by the military to fly to his ship. Learns about Krypton and everything from him before defeating him. Gets a set of Kryptonian armor from Brainiac's ship which becomes his Superman suit. Ship becomes the Watchtower.
After credits scene is the Phantom zone portal opening up and Krypto coming through
>>
Rocket crash lands on a smallville farm. The Kents take in Clark. We all know the story.

No Superboy stuff, but we do get to watch the young Clark develop his powers. He uses them for farmwork, and the Kents know that their child can do great things but aren't sure if they're ready for him to reveal himself to the world yet.

When Clark is about 17, we get a scene where a corrupt bank is trying to buy the land out from under the Kents' struggling neighbor's farm. Pa Kent, hating to see them take advantage of people in need, pays the neighbors' debts for them. The bank knows that the land is valuable, and warns Pa Kent that the neighbors are only going to keep failing. Clark asks why Pa helped his neighbors even though there's no way they can help him back. Pa Kent says that it's just about helping those in need, regardless of reciprocation - sometimes people just need a chance. And thanks to Pa Kent paying off the neighbors' debts, they're able to spend money on better equipment and manage to stay out of debt with their best harvest in years.

The neighbors invite the Kents over to celebrate, but while they're all having dinner together, there's an explosion. The bank, bitter that they were cheated out of the valuable land, planted a bomb in the Kent's barn, and the whole property has caught fire. Everyone rushes out, and every farmer is trying to put out the flames but it's no use. Ma Kent cries to Pa Kent that all of their savings are in the house, and Clark rushes in to save their valuables while their neighbor has gone into the barn to try and free the animals. Clark uses his X-Ray vision to see through the smoke, but when he glances at the barn, he notices that the neighbor has become trapped under a fallen beam. Clark can't stand by and NOT help...so he uses his powers for the first time to help someone.

Superman: Unbreakable

The villains of this film are all lesser known characters who team-up while at Stryker's Island to take down Superman with their combined power once and for all

These characters are: Atomic Skull, Livewire, Parasite, Prankster, and Metallo

The best part is, a good chunk of the film is devoted to the insane synergy these guys would have. So when Superman eventually comes down to bust down on them, they seem like a well oiled machine and an actual goddamn threat. But, in the end, even when he's outmatched, Superman uses the villains against each other by giving in to them and asking who's going to be the one to kill him. Everybody responds differently, Metallo and Atomic Skull mostly butt heads over the right to kill him, Livewire pretty much has a "oh shit" moment when she realizes how fucked up a world without Superman would be, Parasite gets pissed as hell because he's addicted to Superman's power, and Prankster eventually turns sides as he was just in it for the money anyway. There's a massive brawl with all of the villains against each other, but throughout the fight Superman still tries protecting them from each other even when he's been beat the hell out of

A superman movie set in the early 40's .
Superman powers are at Golden age level rather than the god level he is usually portrayed as having.

The story is about superman doing his shit in america, the world is fascinated by him, wondering what he'll do come WWII due to his raw power and social rights activism.

Then comes zod, who ends up in soviet Russia in a kryptonian prison Sarcophagus. He was imprisoned by the council due to his radical belief that the ruling class of krypton had caused the planet to be stagnant and neglectful of the people, despite zod having a very aggresive stance on his opinions, leafing violent protests and being implicated in terrorist attacks (kandor was shrunken by an unknown being, this had not been noticed because of the councils arrogant belief that no one would attack krypton)
Zod finds comfort in the Soviet unions philosophy, believing this to be where he belonged ( intending later on overthrowing the rulers so that he may be in charge)
zod discovers he is not the only kryptonian and intends on either making him his ally or crushing him (zod recognizes superman as kryptonian by his power and likeness to jor el, who is a popular scientist on krypton; advising the krypton military and briefly meeting zod once in awhile) this is where superman learns he is an alien
Lex luthor is a Howard huges-esque billionaire founder of lexcorp, America's top company. He has his contacts in Russia deliver him zods sarcophagus, where he finds an AI named braniac.

Braniac is an AI who infiltrates a planet, to study it as he infliyrates all of its technolody and exists in all of it, virtually unkillable. the AI has a habit if collecting one city a planet, as it has a completist attitude. One braniac AI takes care of the ship while the other inflitrates a planet. This braniac AI was in the middle of studying krypton until it exploded and shipped him off into the phantom zone until a freak accident ripped a portal open back to this world.(1/2)

Clark uses his super-breath to put out the fire inside the house, and then grabs a thick red blanket from his bed and runs out the back door, and flaps it to create superpowered billows of wind to extinguish the flames outside. Then, he runs to the barn - red blanket billowing behind him - and kicks down the gates that keep the animals inside. The animals run out, spooked, and Clark finds the neighbor, passed out from smoke inhalation. Clark wraps him up in the blanket to protect him from the flames and smoke and then breaks out of the side of the barn to safety. He leaves the man there, then leaps over the barn and uses his super-breath again to extinguish it before secretly reentering the extinguished Kent house, reemerging with the Kent's valuables.

A crowd has gathered over the neighbor that went into the barn, and he's beginning to come to. He says that he was a goner, and doesn't know how he managed to get out. He asks who rescued him.

"I never got a good look at his face, but he came out of nowhere," one would say. "He must've been movin' faster than a speeding bullet."

"But did you see the way he kicked out the side of the barn?" chimes the oldest in the group. "He was stronger than a locomotive!"

"And how he lept right over the barn in a single bound! I've never seen a man that could do that!"

Pa Kent looks warmly at Clark, who's exhausted. "Maybe it wasn't a regular man, then."

The crowd helps the neighbor up as triumphant music swells, everyone calling out theories. "Some government agent! Some secret robot! It was an angel!" But then one rises above the rest: "It must've been some kind of...super man!"

Hard cut to the skyline of Metropolis as we flash forward to Clark Kent walking into the Daily Planet. As his employer reviews his resume, we get a bit of a walk through what happened between then and now ("Four years at Smallville University, that's good...")

Clark gets the Daily Planet job, meets Lois, meets Jimmy, all that jazz. Perry White sends him out on his first assignment with Lois to "show him the ropes," much to Lois' chagrin. They're covering the unveiling of a LexCorp's brand new power grid for the city - this is also our introduction to Lex Luthor. Lois, disinterested, strikes up small talk with Clark, asking him what he does for fun. He mentions that he "keeps himself busy." Just as he says it, there are screams from down the street, where a careening van is rounding the corner - bank robbers. Clark "excuses" himself while the van cruises down the avenue, and we see him run - ditching the crowd, getting alone, unbuttoning his shirt to reveal just a sliver of that familiar logo as the music swells - and he vanishes. We cut back to the van as its heading towards the outdoor conference, and from off-screen, heat vision punctures its tires. The van skids out of control, heading for the crowd!!!...and into the air. The camera, following the van, pans down and we see Superman in all of his splendor and glory for the first time, carrying the van as the music plays, and then dropping the thing in the middle of the park.

The crooks, dazed but unharmed, try to shoot Superman but he's obviously unfazed. He takes the piping from under the van and uses his strength to twist it into a tie that binds three of the four robbers. The fourth scatters, running towards the conference. He gets a good distance away, until Superman appears right in front of him and he bounces off of his puffed-out chest. The robber is apprehended. Lex calls off the conference for "safety" while grumbling about this "blue and red buffoon" that stole his show.

(2/2) Braniac wakes up on earth intending on destroying it in a fit of rage, his circuitry going haywire after being trapped on the phantom zone for decades without any other technology avaliable to jump into). Braniac is destroyed at the end but sends a signal to its original ship/AI out in space so it can come to earth, more prepared than the phantom zone braniac was.

Lex watched the events unfold in the backround, to study weaknesses as he is fascinated about the fact aliens exist (he is a follower of nitzche). The movie shows him going from being fascinated by superman to being xenophobic after the actions of zod and braniac cause dissent among nations who become paranoid and now see a superhuman arms race coming along with the brunt of WWII.
Movie ends with lex researching a piece of superman's blood from a fight and trying to reverse engineer it to create kryptonite.

Refrence made about bat creature in gotham, a professor carter hall discovering something in egypt, sightings of a ghost described as a "spectre of God's vengance" and other golden age goodies easter eggs.

fuck I'm getting too long-winded. Let me trim things down:

>the designer of the Power Grid is Winslow Schott, an electronics and engineering genius
>Schott keeps several self-built robots and toys around his office, and is really weird and particular and aggressively defensive about it

>when the Power Grid is finally launched, it works for all of five minutes before overloading due to "outside interference" that Schott can't explain
>Lex is furious that the malfunction would embarrass his company like this, on top of being upstaged by Superman at his press conference
>this failure of the Power Grid sends Metropolis into a blackout, and Superman patrols the streets to curb all of the criminals taking advantage of it
>there's a scene where he visits a hospital running on reserve power, and provides them with a week's worth of electricity just by rubbing his hands together really fast with some kind of conductor between his palms, idk, something nice like that
>Lex gets more and more upset and curious with Superman
>meanwhile, Schott discovers that the "interference" that damaged the power grid was extraterrestrial
>Lex and Schott trace the signal to a surprisingly local source apparently hovering between Earth and the Moon
>having been detected, the source contacts them back and identifies itself as "Brainiac"
>Brainiac is a slightly modified DCAU version, and it's through him sharing Superman's backstory with Lex that we get the whole Kal-El, Last Son of Krypton bit
>Lex asks if there's anything that Superman may be weak too, learns about Kryptonite and its potential and capabilities
>Lex plucks one of Schott's miniature robots from his desk, asking Schott if he could make one that's "bigger"

"Kal-El, I have sent you across the stars, far away from us, and your home, Krypton. I have done this to ensure your survival, and the survival of of Hope in these dark times. Krypton is dying, poisoned by the lust for power, and soon to be consumed by a galactic war. I, your father, Jor of the House of El, have sent you to Earth. This is my gift, to you my Son, a chance at living the life of your choosing. Hatred, Greed, and War have destroyed Krypton, but perhaps, with your help, Earth may survive to see a greater purpose, and a greater future, than what is left for Krypton."

The movie revolves around Superman rescuing people, giving speeches, bringing ISIS to the UN, and ends with Kara's ship crash landing in Gotham harbor, as boom tubes open up across the Earth. Different shots of heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, AquaMan and Cyborg all looking up and seeing boom tubes above them.

Mine would be ASS but he doesn't have cancer.

Instead we're just along for the ride of the adventures of a super powerful, super genius, super resourceful alien as he saves the day in very Superman like ways.

Red trunks, no kill code, as smart as he is powerful, calm, unbelievable hero.

He rehabilitates the Phantom Zone criminals whom are then released but then invent shit that causes Superman problems.

I remember a story where an entire town disappeared and the government asked Superman to investigate and it turned into some chilling horror story because their brains had been stolen or something.

Superman would work with Star labs to establish a massive data hub for all types of areas of science to more readily pin point correlations.

There was some villain in Batman Beyond who turned into an underground living skeleton - basically Superman would save someone in a similarly completely hopeless and horrific situation while already busy fighting someone else. They tell him, "I didn't think anyone would find me." and Superman goes, "I heard you." while Mongul temporarily punched him in the ground or something.

He'd help another hero control their powers who once thought they were uncontrollable which would end in high fives like Pak did with The World's Finest crossover.

It'd just be acts of Superman's special brand of heroism depicting how someone with power should act. He'd be like some wise, visionary, monk who used his wits and powers as tools.

>With the help of Braniac, Schott develops a giant robot while Lex pursues Kryptonite
>Meanwhile, at the Daily Planet, Clark and Lois are investigating what may have caused the power grid failure that put Metropolis in a blackout
>Schott completes the robot, and Lex pilots the thing from his lab in LexCorp, unleashing it upon Metropolis in an effort to subdue Superman
>However, Superman manages to circumvent these efforts by constantly immobilizing, relocating, or negating the robot in some way
>Lex is losing, and fast...
>...so Brainiac assumes direct control.
>Brainiac is now possessing the robot from its extraterrestrial signal, fighting with more ferocity and strength than Luthor was
>Giant Robot Brainiac rips the globe off the top of the Daily Planet building and smacks Superman upside the head with it
>Brainiac is only defeated when Schott's faulty craftsmanship (rushed by Luthor's insistence) begins wearing at the robot, allowing Superman to rip it apart limb by limb before taking its head and torso into the upper atmosphere, dunking it downwards, flying down faster than it falls, and walloping it with an uppercut mere feet from the ground, shattering it
>among the wreckage is a beeping transmitter, with circuits identical to those Clark and Lois had been studying while researching the power grid schematics
>Superman rushes to LexCorp where he finds Schott and Lex in the basement getting ready to flee
>Supes crashes the party and accosts them both, but his repelled by Lex's brand new Kryptonite ring
>Lex monologues about how Superman just destroyed private property and about how every aspect of that robot was created by Schott with illegally acquired funds and materials, and that Schott even broke the power grid on purpose
>Schott starts to protest, but there is no proof to what really happened
>Superman is on to Lex, but knows he can't touch him

The story concludes with Schott being arrested as the scapegoat for Lex's plot, and Clark publishing the story on it. Lois can't believe Clark got the scoop before she did, and at the same time, can't help wondering who this "Superman" guy really is.

The last scene of the movie is Lex sitting in his office, moody due to his scheme failing. Suddenly, there's a notification on his computer. And another one. And another one. They're from Braniac, who is still orbiting Earth.

We see Lex look over the notifications, and his gaze turns hungry, almost lustful. He grins - whatever Brainiac has sent him, it'll make sure that next time, he will not fail.

Brainiac has sent Luthor the complete Kryptonian Genome, which Lex will use to create a clone of Superman, although it turns out a little...bizarre.

I think a few scenes of young Clark trying to cope with his powers would be sweet.

Things like him accidentally burning a hole in a wall, or needing to lie down after his first few moments of having X-Ray vision, trying to give a doctor a blood sample and blinking as the needle breaks off his now invulnerable skin.

Well, I am personally a fan of the Morrison new52 run, so for a personal setup, he would not fly in the first movie, but my preferred lineup would be Parasite+Metallo>Brainiac>Bizarro+Mecha Lex. You're using lesser known Villains, so really, whether or not he flies is up to you.

It's been hashed to death. I feel like if you're going to do a coming of age story for superman, he doesn't don the suit until the VERY END of the movie. So there wouldn't really be a big bad, but there'd be a lot of saving kids from burning buildings, talking jumpers out of suicide, stopping a crashing plane, and so on with Lex looking out his skyscraper plotting and scheming. Then movie two would be His experiments(Parasite, Metallo) trying to kill Superman/wreaking havoc on the city. Ending with Brainiac and Lex communicating for the first time, and so on.

It'd be better to go with the original idea that he's had them since he was a toddler.

So just for funsies

>I - Smallville origins and early career. Lex and Toyman as antagonists, Brainiac is tertiary.
>II - Prankster cameos as the "opening scene" villain. Lex creates Bizarro. Brainiac continues to serve a tertiary role. Superman manages to make an ally of Bizarro, and Bizarro's foggy memories lead them to Brainiac. The two face off, and Bizarro gives his life to destroy Brainiac and his ship. Final scene has Brainiac's robotic head floating around aimlessly in space. Lobo has an end-scene cameo where he flies by on his space-motorcycle and picks it up, says "Neat," and flies off with it.
>III - World's Finest. In the classic combination, the desperate Lex allies himself with the brilliant but unpredictable Joker when the clown prince of crime relocates to Metropolis while evading the Batman. The Joker seems to know where to get kryptonite, and after having his connection to Brainiac severed, Lex will do anything for more leverage against Superman. However, the Joker betrays Lex, which not only dooms his plans but ends up finally exposing Lex's crimes to the public. Mr. Mxzypltk cameos as a hallucination of Superman's while he's under the effects of a kryptonite-infused Joker Venom.

From there? I dunno, it can go anywhere.

No I just want more Faora and I want a plot that will please the assfucked critics but will still be a acceptable flow from what they have already built.

Opens with a little kid in a cornfield just looking at the sky, probably daydreaming, when suddenly he starts to levitate and then he keeps tumbling into the air. He screams for help and his parents start running towards him. We hear a voice say "I never had a normal childhood."

We then go into a version of the first issue of American Alien, ending when he flies (taking out the crash portion of the ending) and while we see young Clark screaming "I'm flying I'm flying" with joy we transition to a full, old school Superman flying.

We quickly figure out what he's flying towards as the camera moves behind him, he's flying towards a crashing space shuttle. Supes of course saves the day and at the end reporters try to talk to him and one speaks louder than the rest. Lois Lane. He stumbles over words and is a bit awkward (a young 20 something Clark.) but he quickly jets off.

The movie would theme itself on how Clark is unsure of himself but eventually understands his place in the world by the end. No brooding, except for maybe a scene where he's at his lowest but only so we can see him rise to his highest.

Villain would be Parasite, the entire thrust of his character would be an opposite of Clark. He comes from a rich family, he's a massive slacker who refuses to take responsibility for his actions.

I'll have him be Jimmy Olsen's roommate and Clark will have a small conversation about responsibility with him during like a night out. Luthor catches him because he thinks he's Superman (his manner of finding Supes is not precise and due to the fact that he spent time around Clark Luthor thinks it's him. It plays into his personal belief of who Superman is, a loser pretending to be powerful)

Eventually we have Clark whose given power and would rather just be a normal guy and Parasite who is given power and seeks to gain more. One is corrupted one is pure lalalalala overt subtext overt subtext.

Just do American Alien. I dig the proto-suit with pilot headgear and lack of virtual Jor-El.

superman is at the fortress of solitude

some strange disturbance happpens
superman goes investigates
its a giant skull ship
he goes to investigate
blah blah blah
wakes up in bottle city of kandor (everyone says he's crazy and was in a coma the whole time or something)
realizes hes trapped in a bottle
escapes
brainiac wanted the last kryptonian because of his programming demands that he gather all the information on a planet and then destroy it (so no new information can be created)
he's finds out that brainy had bottled up metropolis
and is about to blow up the earth
they fight
and superman wins
the end

I have a few.

1. A straight-up adaptation of Action Comics #775, What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way.
2. Superman goes into space for five years, leaving Supergirl to protect Earth, while he investigates Krypton's ruins. But he never does make it home, as he slowly realises that Brainiac, Mongul or Darkseid has trapped him in a VR simulation a la "For the Man Who Has Everything" designed to test him and break him. Superman Returns done right.
3. Superman is captured by Mongul, who like Superman is an orphaned alien but enslaved his adopted homeworld; for some nefarious purpose. Could introduce Martian Manhunter as a servant of Mongul who starts out morally ambiguous but turns good by the 3rd act.
4. Adapt Superman: Birthright. Man of Steel done right.
5. Death of Superman. Half All-Star Superman, half actual comics storyline. Possible antagonists are Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Cyborg Superman, and Brainiac.

Not a movie, but my pitch to DC for a new Superman book
>Superman Team-Ups
The series is as you'd expect. Superman goes around the DCU teaming up with different heroes to take on different threats. The series has 2 goals. The first is to show Superman as a mentor figure, a real hero's hero. He goes around and helps the younger less experienced ones and acts as a teacher to help guide them in the right direction. The second is to expand on some of the lesser known universal scale ideas present within the DCU. While we would see Superman pal around with some older characters like the Atom or maybe Doctor Fate , most of the heroes he'd be teaming up with would be either fairly young or new characters entirely. We'd see Superman help out a new GL recruit as he's given his first case by the Guardians or Superman guide a young and angry Gotham Vigilante from succumbing to his rage and killing the man who murdered his parents. There would be a good balance of stories that focus on both Superman's amazing adventures with friends and Superman being the most kindhearted and goddamn noble hero ever

The best part is, a good amount of the new characters that would be introduced would get their own spin-off in a book called "Super-Friends". That is, if the series would be a financial success to the point where it would warrant a spin-off

Well, I could write something longer, but I'll just cut it down to bullet points.

Smallville influences.
Lex and Clark childhood
Lex is established in Metropolis -- self proclaims billionaire savior of Metropolis
Clark wrote a piece on Lex's childhood -- perhaps that lead to him getting the job at the Planet, as a sort of bribe (Clark thinks it's humanizing, Lois says that Lex "doesn't want to be humanized, he wants to be deified"). Clark's the new kid in the big city
Lois and her sidekick photographer are Jimmy taking care of the new kid
Lena's important, her and Lex have a sort of strained relationship -- meant to be humanizing. To give a clear emotional reason for Lex to hate Supes. Lena idolizes Supes, while Lex's trying to control and get her recognition. Think of Tony Montana and Gina.
Lois, Jimmy and Clark are investigating some crash site of Kryptonite
Metallo happens, is probably Lex trying to revive Lena's military husband with the power source they found.
Drives him fucking nuts.
Superhero battle.
"If this stuff could crash on Earth, what else could come from Krypton."

My idea for Superman himself was that this was a 'coming to Metropolis' story for Clark, but NOT Superman. A reel at the beginning would reveal that Superman's been showing up in Metropolis for around a year. When he was younger, he would help people near Smallville, but it started getting in the news, and Ma and Pa Kent were getting worried. But with super speed, it wasn't any trouble to fly over to Metropolis to help people.

Villain isn't thought out well and needs to be improved. I like those villain creating origins that the TV shows have: Smallville with the meteor freaks, Supergirl with Fort Rozz. Lex creating something that could be the cause of other villains showing up is one I would like (activating a Kryptonian beacon, etc)
