So I've been in the animation industry for a little over 10 years and some of my friends who are also in the industry have been hired by nick in developing splatoon into an animated series.
Currently Nickelodeon and Nintendo are developing the Splatoon franchise into an animated series slated for 2019. So I'm guessing the recent announcement of the splatfest featuring patrick and spongebob is actually an advertisement for the announcement.
I'm really excited but jealous because i'm stuck as a revisionist for harvey beaks

I haven't played much of the single player campaign, the thing I do know is that their was a war between the Squid and Octopi, agent 1 and 2, who help the squids win, are now pop stars running a post apocalyptic sport show where kid squids kill each other with their ink for coolness points.
