ITT: The moment a character became your favorite.
>Liking keikaku shit
Fuck off.

No idea what this means but thank you for the bump friendo
Bumpan

He was the best character.
Not that that was hard in korra, but hell, varrick would've still been the best character even in ATLA.
>>81909443
>No idea what this means
Basically "It was all according to my plan all along"
>>81909348
i love this kind of character
The god of evil incarnate, one who's every name sends shivers of terror down the spines of every being in the multiverse. Just shows up out of the blue with his copy of Mein Kampf and crashes on some midget's couch.

This
I love Varrick

Anon's Note: Keikaku means plan.
The Test made Steven my favorite.
But then it turned out he was 13.5 years old and not 10, which made the episode seem less like an exceptional display of emotional maturity.
Very glad to hear that Varrick: Murray edition will be in Voltron.

Stronger than You made me appreciate Garnet, as well as got me into watching the series even though I was already sort of interested (I neglect such things half the time)
What I never got is that Steven should've been happy anyways. Sure the test was a sham but he still passed at least Garnet's and Amethyst's, so he basically rolled a strike with the bumpers on. Being mad just because they didn't wanna risk him dying in training was somewhat silly.

Too bad this never really went anywhere at all.

It wasn't about passing the test, it was about proving himself as a capable person.
If they held his hand through the very same test that's meant to prove his worth, then it's all just a waste of time.

That's what I'm saying though. The tests were to test if he could pass them, so that he could do well in combat and such. He passed the tests up until the end, so he didn't do badly.
Again, rolling a strike with bumpers up. They made it so that he couldn't fail, but he still succeeded on his own.

To be fair, that's Darkseid's own couch, since Oberon was crawling through Apokolips' sewers just prior to that page.

Your next line is "It's a cheap writing technique"
>>81913550
He wanted to prove himself to the CG. That was impossible since they designed it for him to pass. He recognized that they were worried like him so he chose to go along with it to make THEM feel better.
>>81912823
It's the goddamn cheapest technique in writing, solidified by the entirety of Bleach.
>>81913931
This much is true. Basically the writers make shit happen because it's their plan, so they slap what happens onto an evil character because it's their "evil" plan. And the plan works flawlessly because it was written that way, but the flawlessness alone is supposed to make the audience go "oh wow shit the plan was perfect shit"

Lex or Question? This scene was iconic for both of them.
