It's a big plot contrived thing where all four CCT's are linked with a few smaller CCT's in between. For no other reason than PLOT, if one of the big four goes down the whole network is toast. And in typical KUBOOOOOOO fashion we don't know how much function they retain locally, why the other three wont work is mistral gets stomped or even what type of wireless signal it is since to get to what they have they should have a fuckload of intermediary developments and some older tech lying around. So while they wouldn't be able to broadcast past the natural features like mountains or too far they should have been able to do somewhat.

Added combat revision to spice up the gameplay and you can get pretty good combos going if you know how.
Just really boring because there are only four levels at the moment.
They do have a horde mode coming soon but I'm not sure how much of a consolation that is.

Jaune does his best work with a team at his back so playing as him should be focoused on buffing and otherwise gaining strength from a team.
Like helping keep others alive helps build his ultimate meter faster, or making his heavy attack have a greater chance to stagger for team attacks and counters.

I wish that the show was more consistent with how much punishment people could take before dropping. I know that you can handwave it by saying "muh aura," but particularly in season 3, the show's fights basically became Man of Steel - tier. Just two groups of invincible people beating on each other until the plot demands that the fight end. People were getting btfo by hits that they had easily shrugged off just moments before. Especially in the finale, when Yang gets OHKO by the edgelord unzipping his katana.
