Zootopia Series Discussion
If we got a tv series on Disney XD (much more likely than a sequel at this point), what would you want it to be about?
Judy and Nick general adventures or specifically police work? Epsiodes that bunch around following both familiar and novel characters
Let's all move to this thread
>>81841790
I agree, this seems like a safe space.
>>81841790
yes, I just linked it from the other thread
build it and they will come
As for the tv show, I want something thats not exclusively judy and nick. I want a whole new cast of characters to run with
I requested pirates.
Where are my pirates?
Drew some Noir-styled Zootopia
ITT it's june 2015
this just got released
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9lmhBYB11U
what was your initial reaction?
>>81841617
I rather have it follow Nick or Judy plus any of the cast of the movie as they go solve crimes, even though they are just traffic/police officers and not official detectives of ZPD.And both of them get promoted to detectives at the end of the series. But the kicker is they got seperated into different divisions with Judy falling for Burglary while Nick is given to Vice.
How's everyone drawing going?
Here's minethat I found online

Will this suffice

>Fuck me, more fucking Dreamworks Face
>>81841902
>my god Disney is not even trying to hide that it's furry propaganda.
>>81841899
Oooh, nice
why do they have tiny mouse construction workers with tiny construction vehicles instead of just some regular sized animal do it
or even just trick some kids in a daycare with a big box of lego into building houses all day
>>81841916
Aye, me buck'o.
>Disney tv series
>>81841902
That fox seems like an ass. This is going to be watered down furry stuff.
are we at a peak good time to release an animal based comic or have i missed the boat completely?
will the boat still be here in a year or more?
i have one but i'm incredibly averse to appearing as a bandwagon jumper.
Imagine Judy sucking your cock!!!!
>>81841957
It might be a specialty thing - mice willing to pay a premium for construction done entirely by mice.
How much has Zootopia grossed so far? Haven't been around all day in these threads.
>>81841899
stylish/10
>>81841912
>How's everyone drawing going?
Started drawing on paper again and did some Judy and Nick doodles. Still have two digital Judys to work onbut so little time.
>>81841980
As long as you do not come from the MLP/Undermeme/FNAF fanbases at the same time then I doubt you will be branded as a bandwagon jumper.
So have we finally run out of things to talk about?
post sadbox
>>81841617
I think the safest bet is to keep it between the end of the Night Howler case and the beginning of Nick's academy stay. Have it be a spin-off universe that adheres to the movies as best it can while not constraining the canon in any way. Because inevitably there's going to be some dumb plots.

Get on it anon. Try to get them posted this thread
I started doodling too, but right now I can only still trace other people's work
>>81842144
your /r/ is my command
Well for starters I'd want it to be something of a mix between episodic and story arc based series likeSU and MLP.
Secondly I'd want it to help give more character to the secondary characters of the movie and help us give a better idea on who they are. And for the inevitable new characters, let's not only make them memorable in their own right but also they could help establish some worldbuiding about the city and world.
And finally I'd want them to not be afraid to take risks for the plots. Part of what made the movie so great was it tackling issues like prejudice without watering them down. If they could apply that to a tv show we'd be golden. Also have it be in 2D.
>>81841912
Still doing the comics and it might take a bit of more time before I am able to finish the pages.
I think some of this is new, I didn't see it the last time I checked. More official concept art.

Heh... seen the source of that gif, appears she like iCarrots and Nick likes the Samsung knock off... not sure what they call it in Zootopia.

We did long ago. Right now we're waiting for the flood of Japanese art once the movie is released over there, then for the Blu-Ray to hit and the high quality webms that will follow.
After that, it all depends on the announcement of a sequel.

Tv series episode:
A Ranger Scout has gone missing on a field trip and Nick and Judy are assigned to find him.
Scoutmaster is one of the prey who muzzled Nick.
Nick and scoutmaster clash over this.
Nick and Judy find Ranger Scout who was taken because he saw criminals commiting a crime and they took him.
Scoutmaster apoligizes and Nick and Judy are made honorary Ranger Scouts.
In the final scene,in Nick's apartment, he hangs up his Ranger Scout uniform next to his police uniform and, reaching up in the closet, takes out a bag and asks Judy to throw it away on the way home.
Puzzled, she agrees and looks inside once she is outside.
Inside the bag is the muzzle that was put on him when he was younger.
She tosses it in a dumpster on the way home.

I've been hearing about how art is a "dying major" and that it's what you do if you want to be unemployed. Ever since I was a kid, I've loved drawing and dreamed of making a comic book series, a tv series, a movie, a video game, etc. Over the years, I've heard nothing but bad things about choosing art as a career and how I should just be something else like a doctor or engineer or scientist. Zootopia has made me want to start drawing again and pursue a career of art, but I'm not sure. Be honest, /co/. Is there any hope for someone to be successful doing art, especially of cartoons?

There is hope but there isn't any reliable way to say it will earn you a living.
Great artists often starve and shitty ones earn thousands.
It is better if you pursue art as a side-career.
>>81844043
Take a look at Egoraptor

>>81844095
If anything, it shouldn't be an issue since people will think it's just a community outreach type thing. I with they made one of Nick in his uniform as well.
>>81844043
You don't need to go to school for art. Get a good job doing something productive and git gud with art on the side, then when you're good enough you can get into those industries.
Art is definitely a self made thing so don't quit your day job until you can actually make something of it.
>>81843860
If the sequel involves them as a couple, I'm not sure what I want more: Them finally realizing how deep their feelings go, or the audience and other characters discovering the two are already together halfway through the film.

I think I said this in another thread, but it reinvigorated my interest in animation, which was definitely waning prior to watching this movie. Many shows and films in the past have inspired me to draw, but this is the first time I've actually done it and shared it with people (as Finger Paint Anon, heh) as opposed to throwing the drawing away.
I guess one drawback is that this movie is all I can think about these days, but I have a habit of obsessing over things I enjoy for up to weeks or even a month or two at a time, so I'm sure it'll pass eventually.

You have all these ideas in your head that you will never be able to make into reality. And since you're the "idea guy" nobody will work with you to make them real unless you pay them a shitload of money.
>>81844216
As someone who can't draw, it sucks having an idea to draw something but then not being able to actually pull it off.
>>81844250
it is never too soon as far as the internet cares
>>81844168
I'm not an expert or anything, but I think it does match the look. The 3d to 2d transition really worked out well, it has the same feel as the movie.
I'm too lazy to finish this, someone else pick up where I left off.
>>81844216
You ever work retail?
>>81844203
>>81844169
That's honestly a good idea. Time to rev up that Amazon account.
>>81844272
I laughed, and then I cried.
>>81844317
10/10 would want to be protected and served by.
Seriously, I hope you keep with your dreams and always keep your Judy plushes close.
>>81843895
Final overhaul rewrite came a year and a half before release, so it was definitely in production for the Judy version of the film at that point

>>81844250
Who gives a shit about some shitty eceleb reviewer?
The world would be better if they all followed his example
>>81844250
It kind of fits the sort of despair you'd find in the original script.
>>81844168
and followed, look forward to more from you
>>81843831
fucking adorable
great work, you should draw more finnick
>>81844254
>You have all these ideas in your head that you will never be able to make into reality
Only because you failed to try. Human beings are a remarkable species. Do something long enough and you can master it. You did learn how to write, correct? To learn how to sketch has the same equivocal learning curve
Give your daily assignments, it won't take long anon, I promise
>>81844350
Lol, it's looking good so far, thanks. It's not a huge city, so I should settle into a routine pretty quickly.
>>81844440
Nailed it.
>>81844373
> implying I'd be upset if it had been Douge or Linkara
but it wasn't
>>81844299
Yes. I hate it. But, it's the only way I know how to make money right now.
>>81843831
>Judy has a taser and pepper spray
>Nick just puts Finnick in a holster
>"No Carrots, he's a tiny ball of anger and rage."
>"I'm just putting him to good use."
>Still dresses him like an elephant
>"It's to keep the rage up, Carrots. Remember: tiny ball."

How exactly does finding a job as a cop work? Do you train knowing where you will end up or are you assigned to one after graduation?

>Second entry: Oct 11th, 2017
>Client: Nick Piberius Wilde
>Seeking treatment for: Night Terrors, anxiety
>Past diagnosis of mental disorder: None
>Subject claims to be "much better" than last time, seems to be airing more confidence
>Reply that I'm happy for him, and I'm glad to see him in back again
>Ask what's on his mind
>Subject laughs, says "nothing"
>Silence, subject appears to become anxious
>Starts talking about the office
>Ask what is prompting this discussion, subject claims that he's "never been in a building this nice before"
>Ask if we can dig further on that
>Subject recounts experiences during the collar years
>Was verbally confronted when entering shops or restaurants where it was uncertain if a "Pred" was working
>Ask how that made him feel
>Subject says it made him feel "angry at first, then just annoyed"
>Ask if the anger triggered his collar, if the anger was at the animals working the shop
>Subject claims he was a little bothered, but collar never activated, learned to control his emotions well
>Said he felt a little resentful of the animals who verbally confronted him
>Asked if he still feels that now
>"A little, but I have the right to be"
>Ask if he resents me, as a prey animal
>"Can't help it, I know it's irrational"
>Body language shift: Ears fold back, gaze lowers
>Ask about what's happening right now
>Claims he feels "Exactly like the kinda person who I used to hate"
>Ask further
>"Making a judgement about someone, letting it control them."
>Remind subject that this is a clinical relationship and if he feels better talking to someone else, that's perfectly acceptable
>Subject becomes anxious again, apologizes, claims it would be good to speak with a prey animal, to help him work through his resentment
>Behavior: Ears back, scratching nervously around neck, leg movements
>Ask about behavior
>Silence
>Before session ends, Nick attempts a joke, laugh, see his expression shift
>End log

I'm not even a huge fan of the Gideon/Travis ship but they cute anyway.
>>81844282
Ah thanks for the insight, perhaps I'll improve it more a little but keep the style if that is the case.
>>81844378
Noice.
>>81844072
That's a big door.
>>81844522
Glorious day! Thank you for the Gideon, it's great!
