Hey Arnold and snitching.

I'm actually still confused about the point it was making If the kids didn't confess because of guilt, Arnold would have gotten expelled. The principal who did snitch when he was a kid fondly recounts how he was excommunicated from everyone else for the rest of his academic career but still believes that it was the right thing to do. It's unclear who to side with.

Dan Vs also has a general theme that subtly emphasizes that you can be an angry, vitriolic and controlling person, but none of those things nessarily make you a bad person.

I wouldn't argue that the show tries to portray Dan as a good person, but it certianly doesn't portray him as the villain or as an evil person in general. Sadistic, and cruel at times, sure, but even then it's remarkably non-judgmental about what he's doing.

>>81809579
>Unfortunately, this is the recipe for diarrhea not happiness

I nominate this statment as this week's best original description of 4chan, all in favor say "I regret nothing"

>>81810458
Anger is my primary source of motivation desu senpai. If wasn't angry at how fucked up everything in existence was then I probably would have strung myself up a long time ago just becuase I wouldn't have any drive to live anymore.

It's a morbid thought, but I'm quite thankful that I will never run out of things to be upset about.

Seriously though, anger is a based as fuck emotion that gets a bad rap because parents don't understand nuiance. You can be as angry as you damn well please so long as you know how to focus that anger and make proper use of it. A lot of the most successful people in the world only got where they are because they were pissed off at their own personal circumstances.

'what is art?'

abstract art can be enjoyable. It can also be a self indulgent act of intellectual and or emotional masturbation same as any artform. abstract art however is prone to a lot of fakery and pointless nonsense.

one of the biggest fucking problems with art is interpretation.

what's genuine? what's good? how many times do we have to see 'cleaning staff threw away an art exhibit after mistaking it for garbage' until we admit that maybe society is a little too willing to indulge some flights of fancy?

The Hangman tells the story of a moral coward who watches as everyone in his town is hung one by one. First a foreigner, then a man who protested the first hanging, then a jew, then a black, and so on. Eventually the cowardly narrator gets his turn on the gallows tree for the crime of being too cowardly to stand up for the previous victims. The message is very obvious (You have a moral duty to stand up to injustice, or you'll be a victim of it), but it's horribly effective in its beautifully macabre style.

It was never implied that too much happiness causes depression, though denial of reality in the pursuit of happiness can and will fuck up your mental health.

Though I will say that attempting to maintain a perpetual high will set you up for a fall. Seriously, go look at manic depressive people, they're pretty much the happiest people in the world one minute, then they crash hard when the pendulum swings in the other direction.

The powerpuff girls episode on feminism. The villain convinces the girls that most crime and policing are handled by men so they let her go and act like huge cunts towards the professor and mayor when they're asked to do something. It takes Ms. Vellum and Ms. Keane to point out that men weren't mistreating them and that women were also victims of this female crime wave. The show ends with a speech about Susan B. Anthony who wanted to go to jail to prove women deserve equal rights.

The whole point was clear: feminism isn't about attacking men or saying that women deserve special treatment; it is about giving women the same opportunities and choices as men, making them full citizens with the same rights.

I really liked the moral of The Lego Movie.

It took the usual "EVERYONE is special!" mentality that kids' media is full of these days and turned it into a unifying thing, rather than an excuse to hand out consolation prizes and participation trophies.

>Everyone is the protagonist in their own story. No matter how unimportant you may feel, we all have the same potential for our own personal greatness; it only takes a bit of inspiration to start your own Hero's Journey.

Also
>There's no wrong way to play with LEGO, but limiting one's creativity kinda goes against the spirit of the thing. Either way, don't be a dick to people who play differently than you; make it a unifying thing rather than an exclusionary thing.

Eh my manic episodes aren't necessarily "happy". Just a lot of energy and motivation and anxiety and pacing around. Very quick to anger. Sometimes dissociation. It's hard to explain but I've described it as taking a shitty upper without any euphoria and no choice. Then I often crash into overwhelming sadness and depression.
When I'm manic I make everyone around me hate me and when I'm depressive I hate myself.
