lots of people on HSG think characters changing over time, in any way at all, means they're being ruined. it was understandable earlier on, like in the immediate aftermath of the shooshpap scene, and the execution of character development was definitely clumsy and awful at times, but the actual changes really aren't that bad unless you want more samey content of the waifus you've built up in your head.
