>Calvin has blonde hair
>Calvin's father does not
>but the mailman does
Hmmmm...
You know who else was blonde? Goku
blonde hair gene is recessive. Both parents can carry it and they still would have dark hair.

Hair can darken over time. I was blindingly blonde as a kid and now it's dark brown.

Neither of my parents have blonde hair, but I was born with blonde hair. As I aged, it grew darker until it was basically the same as my father's hair by the time I was, like, 10.
my brother and my dad both had bright blonde hair that started turning brown when they were about 5, and both have had fully brown hair since like age 9. I still have my blond hair now, but it's not very bright. My hair was so blond when I was 6 years old that it looked white

My dad had dark brown hair, my mum had black hair, I was blonde as a swede when I was a kid.
