Can someone explain the Crisis, Flashpoint, New 52 stuff to me?
Basically the DC continuity. Still don't understand it.
Like, wtf is Crisis on Infinite Earths, Final Crisis, and stuff like that and why did DC change their continuity in 2011 to New 52? And Prime Earth vs New Earth, etc.

Earth 2 was a universe where Batman and Superman started their adventures in the 40's and the all-star heroes fought the WW2
Earth 1 was the earth where Superheroes started their adventures in modern times.
Then Flash jumped to earth 2 and met The flash from that universe.
Eventually The anti-monitor a big bad guy that has seen the creation of the multiverse said "fuck it i'm absorbing all this shit" and started destroying a pretty much infinite number of universes until only 4 were left, after his defeat the universes merged into one new universe where the 40's superheroes were old, and they all lived now in the same universe. Some heroes like a heroic son of lex luthor and superboy from our universe and the superman and lois of earth 2 went to live into a pocket reality.
The new universe is called new earth.
Then Hal Jordan fucks up the timeline but everything is solved.
Then Superboy from our earth (superboy prime) and the son of luthor from earth 3 came with a plan and fuck everything, superboy punches reality itselfs and the multiverse is about to comeback
The wildstorm universe and several others are now in the bleed, the multiverse is back.
In final crisis Darkseid dies, and while falling to death he tries to drag the entire multiverse with him. Taking the whole creation with himself, he does, only a small "ship" survives, the multiverse is death there's only emptyness. Superman saves everyone, the very idea of a superhero can change everything. The multiverse is back and with small changes.
Then Flash fucks everything by saving her mpother and the timeline gets really fucked so we get new52. The TIMELINES in the multiverse change but they are the same multiverse.

Okay, back in the 1940's you had a boon of superheroes all trying to cash in on the success of of Superman. One of these superheroes was The Flash Jay Garrick, who would fade until obscurity after the Comics Code Authority started regulating comics to the point only three heroes survived; Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. So in 1956, they decided to revive The Flash but make him Barry Allen, who was inspired by comics he read about Jay Garrick. Eventually The Flash would team up with characters like Superman, which created a plot hole since Superman also existed in Jay Garrick's continuity. So the DC multiverse was created with the story "The Flash of Two Earths" which saw Jay Garrick and Barry Allen teaming up. Jump to the 1980's and the DC multiverse is a mess, so DC decides to have the Crisis on Infinite Earths event to clear continuity on the main earth and get rid of the alternate Earths. Infinite Crisis sees the multiverse recreated once more. Then in 2011, to try and increase sales, DC reboots again and writes the Flashpoint event, where several universes get merged together to repair the damage made to the timeline.
There was a time in the Golden and Silver age when comics were fun and lighthearted. Superman could eat kryptonite, shoots mini Supermans from his palms and Shapeshift, Batman would run around with Robin in a bike and suddenly fall in another universe. This shit was really confusing, nobody knew who's who. Why there are 3 Green lanterns? Why there are 2 Black canaries? Why? Why? Why? Then DC decided to trow everything in the trash and reboot everything in only one earth. The New Earth was born at the end of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. This Earth lasted till the end of Flashpoint in 2011.
All the Crises are part of a meta-canon story about the DC universe.
