Honestly, I enjoyed the '06 run most of the time, but Jaime has a problem of having whole story arcs where he doesn't fight credible threats or do anything of real consequence, he just does El Paso stuff. deals with Mexican youth gangs and weird Meta-human snatching, and it got kinda boring for me. I enjoyed a lot of other things, like his appearance in YJ, Brave and the Bold.

Personally, I like that about Blue Beetle. The first has a magic artifact that gives him extraordinary power, and in death asks the second Blue Beetle, Ted, to carry on in his place, but Ted doesn't get and later on can't use the Scarab. To be frank, I feel like it says a lot about Ted that despite having no powers or access to the artifact of his predecessor he puts his all into being the Blue Beetle, and makes some amazing stuff int he process. Then the third has the mantle rather rudely thrust upon him, and decides to honor the name. Thought it was kinda inspiring ever since I first read BB.
