"The usual DIC style guide, which emphasized visual over verbal and eschewed puns and topical/cultural references, was always in force...though on Sonic, because of his impressions (Schwarzenegger, Marilyn Monroe, etc) we bent those rules. On "Sonic is Running" I just broke them. ABC's Sonic was more straightforward adventure with mythology and backstory, the stated goal on the syndicated Adventures of Sonic was simply to make it as funny as possible."
