Which death had more of an impact on you?

To be honest? Groot, even though in theaters I knew it wouldn't stick, but seeing Rocket cry and DRax comfort him really hit me.
>>
>>81619008
gwen stacy had a pretty big impact on the ground
>>

None of them. I don't give a shit about Coulson, there are too many meme jokes with Gwen and Uncle Bane for me to take it seriously, ANT-ony is an ant, I knew Groot was going to comeback, and Quicksliver didn't grow on me.
This guy however did. Only one I felt bad about.
>>
>>81619008
Looking back, Uncle Ben looks derpy in death.
>>
>>81619008
Coleson, because it was the only one I didn't see coming a mile away. Even then it was more of a passive surprise than actual shock; largely because it felt completely unnecessary. Had the franchise not desensitized me so by A2, Quicksilver may have had a similar effect.
>>
Quicksilver, I really liked him though I think marvel would of ruined that after another film so it's probably for the best
>>
>>81619021
>it wouldn't stick
Heh
>>
>>81619008
Ben, easily.

Groot for second place.

Gwen felt like it was on a checklist and not done because it actually added to the story.

Coulson and Quickass didn't have enough characterization for me to care.

Same goes for Antony, but he ALSO gets a deduction for being obvious he'd die from the moment Scott named him.

Quicksilver's death probably had more of an impact on me. Not because it was sad or shocking, obviously, but that was when I went from just not caring about Whedon's hacky writing to actually hating it. It was just too unnecessary, too predictable, too meaningless, too stupid. It was everything you possibly could dislike about his writing concentrated into one moment.

Hey, how about this one?
>>
>>81619008
Gwen's death was ruined by that fucking web hand, I'll never get over that. I wasn't sad about QS dying, I was just disappointed that that's going to be his only appearance in the MCU. Stuck forever in one of the worst movies, wasted potential. I never cared for Antony, it didn't have the same impact as the protagonist's dog/horse dying, I only ever thought of him as just another ant. I like Coulson but I don't think his actor did a very good job of dying convincingly.

TL;DR Groot and Ben, Ben probably pulls out in the end because I knew the second Groot died that he would be later revived.
>>
>>81622776
>that's going to be his only appearance in the MCU.

Given the pattern in these movies, he'll be back. It wouldn't even be difficult.
FURY: "We got him off the battlefield in time. Turns out he was only knocked-out: his body was healing the holes faster than they could kill him. But it seemed a good idea to keep him in the wings for a while!"

I know I would have been just as pissed as Ultron if that's all Vision had to say to me.
>>
>>81623407
Age of Ultron has got a lot of really great individual moments in it, a shame that the movie that puts them together is a disappointment.
>>
>>81623597
This, so much. I watch clips of it and I think "hey that was actually pretty cool". Just a shame that it was all jam-packed into this one incoherent mess of a narrative. Hell the Hawkeye/Black Widow parts could have been saved for Black Widow solo film in favor of more nuanced moments like that Vision/Ultron talk, would have at least trimmed some of the fat.
>>
>>81621125
Well Coulson kind of happened while the helicarrier was being taken apart, kind of hard to focus solely on him without disrupting the flow a bit too much I imagine, plus since they were planning on reviving him anyways they didn't need it to be crying your eyes out sad, just enough to push the team.

If you can't feel emotions, I'm sorry to tell you but I think you're actually the autistic one here friend. Get some help, pay for a personal therapist even. Trust me, you'll be better off paying for all the help you can get to better your state of mind instead of constantly wasting your time with these films.

>I want him back somehow, throw him as a depowered villain in something like Ant-Man for all I care, I just want to see more of him. Even with all the "quips" (which felt Stark-like anyway) Spader killed it with his voice and mannerisms.
Maybe bring him back much later, when no one is expecting him. There are actually tons of different ways his consciousness could have survived, if you think about it. Vision could have saved the mind of that drone, hoping to redeem Ultron one day, a piece of a drone could have landed somewhere around Sokovia intact, and someone could try to reactivate it in a misguided attempt to control Ultron. Or, when Ultron uploaded his consciousness to the internet, someone could have stored some kind of copy of him on some offline device, and when Vision destroyed the rest of it Ultron's online consciousness, he missed that one. All ways for a potential villain return, if they so chose.
>>
>>81623982
I'm not saying I don't feel emotions, I'm saying I don't feel for FICTIONAL CHARACTERS who DON'T EXIST.

>Coulson
That was probably the worst death
Going with Groot I guess
>>
>>81619008
Definitely Groot. I was well-aware he wasn't actually going to die, but it worked so well anyway. The movie built up on them being friends so it mattered when he sacrificed himself. And seeing Rocket breaking down and crying while Drax comforted him was what really sold it. Also when little Groot was revealed some girls in my theater let out some of the happiest "awwws" I've ever heard

Gwen's death was actually pretty well done, aside from the web-hand. Garfield did a good job of delivering panic and desperation when he goes down to see her. Unfortunately it was hard for one competent scene to have much impact when the movie delivering it was so overall garabage.

Gwen.

I wish I could watch this through the eyes of someone not familiar with the 4chan memeplex but still having seen Bane in the movie, and desperately trying to figure out what the hell he has to do with this.

Oh yeah that was retarded. I'm not even sure that's how balistics work anyway, ants are so light I don't know if a bullet can even hit one mid-flight.
And he shoots the one ant with a name that Scott was also riding? Are we supposed to think he was actually aiming at half-an-inch tall Scott there?.

>half-an-inch tall Scott

he was riding an ant dude,he was even smaller than that

That scene, and also the one where two security guards were somehow able to almost shoot him were both pure bullshit

>Phil's Dead

No. He's on Agents of Shield, Tuesdays on ABC.

>he one where two security guards were somehow able to almost shoot him

At least it was just him on a white background, not him among a cloud of ants. Ant it looked kind of cool, with the model building exploding under the bullets.

I'm not even surprised to say it was the fucking ant. At least we know that thing won't come back. The other candidates were either extremely predictable or their return just completely ruined the impact of their deaths... or both!

But Coulson is still canonically dead!

Quickass was a bait and switch and didn't return. Just saying, it wasn't predictable if you didn't have it spoiled first.
It had other issues though (notably being a bait and switch).

Gwen's death in ASM 2 was as perfect a comic book scene recreation as one can have. The elements that pertained to the tragedy itself were accurate to the comic scene. The "snap," Gwen closing her eyes, bracing for impact, the web not reaching her in time. It WAS PERFECT, meaning it was brutal.

Quicksilver's death hit me, too, only because it seemed so pointless.
