So far, no. By the time of Blackest Night he had returned home only to find his family and loved ones had been reading about what a douche he was in the DC universe in the actual comic books, so he became a DCU forum troll while living in his parent's basement (no, I'm not kidding)
So why is superboy-prime so, well, super?
So I just finished reading the Sinestro Corps War arc, which I enjoyed greatly. But one element kinda bugged me, and I was hoping those more knowledgeable in DC lore could fill me in.
The fights get kinda chaotic, and there's a lot of jumping around, but as far as I can tell Superboy-prime was able to beat his way through most of the heavy hitters from the justice league, take out a lot of GLs, mostly beat down the new Ion, toss around the anti-monitor, and manage to go toe to toe with the guardians until he finally gets defeated. That seemed to me like quite a lot. Now granted it he's a kryptonian, but I would think even superman would have a hard time going through all that in one go.
Of course, saying that I fully admit my superman lore is rather spotty. I mostly only read about him in the JLA and even that I don't follow regularly. And I get that prime is immune to kryptonite, which of course is one of the big edges (the wiki article also said that he's less vulnerable to magic than the earth-1 superman too, which I guess makes two edges). Still, he managed to go up against superman and supergirl, also kryptonians, and seemed to do fine.
So am I missing something here? Was the universe prime was from just more powerful overall or something? Does he have some other edge (well, aside from everyone being preoccupied by the 15 bazillion yellow lanterns blowing everything to hell)? Or was it just an oddity of this run that he was so powered up?

Super-Boy Prime lived trough a couple crises and re-boot so technically he's still silver age level while everyone (and everything) got nerfed to death.
Plus he's resistant to magic, red suns and is emotionally unstable.

As far as I can remember, in the story he first appears in his origin is a bit different. (Jor El teleports him to Earth not with a rocket.) and so bits of Krypton never land on his Earth.
Of course in the original story they establish that he's immune to Red Sun radiation (but currently, that's his only weakness.) The other big part of Prime origin was he gained all his powers when Haily's comet passed over Earth. (since it was in the 80s.) Maybe Prime is immune to Kryptonite, but a chunk of Hailey's comet would weaken him?

Well the official reason is because he's a Pre-Crisis Superman. Which doesn't make any sense because Superman's Silver Age power level was never taken seriously.
As for why magic doesn't work on him, my theory is that since he's from the real world, magic is impossible due to the laws of physics.

If you're trying to stay relevant, I would just go for COIE, Infinite Crisis, 52, Countdown to Final Crisis sucks but if you are a masochist who wants to read an awful series go for it, then Final Crisis and its various tie ins.
You'll be tearing through so many different characters and storylines, you'll find threads to follow into other series.
