I think the Hood is the best example if what is wrong with the character now, it replace so something iconic and unique about the characters and just gaves him something generic.

He doesn't, they're just colored blue; making it look arguably worse, like his boxers are too tight or something.

I think a lot of the problems is that the New 52 and Marvel Now costumes are all "moviefied" so they don't quite look as good in the comics as they would on screen. I say we keep them in their respective mediums, really.

I was reading the Sinestro series and keked when I saw that they put Hal and Sinestro in their Pre-Flashpoint costumes. What was the point of adding unnecessary lines to it if people were just going to ignore that later?

Hal's costume was too perfect to tweak much so they just added a couple lines on the shoulders that artists forgot frequently
Sinestro's was mostly the same although the removed the armband, dunno if that was a "well we gotta change SOMETHING" choice so much as it was a "he has a solo now and we don't want him to evoke Hitler anymore"
