Bender as a whole is a lot less likable in the CC seasons. They push him really hard and get really lazy by making his motivations by depending almost entirely on him wanting to be the greatest at everything. In the pre-CC seasons he felt a lot more like an actual character and they stuck more to his interests of country folk singing, cooking, and crime.
