It's there with Megatokyo in terms of unwanted longevity. Both comics have had next to no time at all pass in them either, it's kind of amazing. Thinking about these two made me remember that Applegeeks was a thing I read at the same time as MT/DC.

It is, but its pacing/creation process very obviously doesn't fit well into a 2-3x a week update schedule. Delays are commonplace and pacing that would be fine when read all at once gets hideously stretched out. Getting through a single dodgeball sequence took something like nine months. It was great, don't get me wrong, but still. Nine fucking months.
2-3 pages a week is honestly a fucking terrible way to read/present that sort of story. I understand why webcomic artists do it, they need that advertising scratch and can't afford to just dump whole chapters at once, but it's a really damned suboptimal format for that style of narrative. It was made for gag-a-day style strips, not long-form fantasy epics.

I'm pretty sure that Diaz either just makes half of this up as he goes along, ripping from whatever he's currently watching/reading, or takes so long getting from point A to point B thanks to his update schedule that he gives up on actually trying to build the story properly.
