I was a big fan of Scott Pilgrim because I read the books one after another as a teenager. Seconds and Lost At Sea I both read in single sittings at a bookstore. I can remember enjoying Seconds for what it was, though I wasn't a big fan of Katie. There was a scene beforehand with Katie and Andrew where they talk what they're going to do next and that would have been a great stopping point. One of the things I enjoy the most about all of Bryan's works is that cast of characters we get. The SP cast was large but everyone interacted like good friends, and Seconds had a cast of coworkers that were more or less able to joke around with each other. The kids from Lost At Sea seemed pretty interesting too. I hope Bryan does another series rather than a standalone soon, that way we can keep a cast around and get more time with them.

I liked Scott Pilgrim, I liked Seconds. Haven't read Lost At Sea yet. It's way too early for me to really judge since we know literally nothing about his new book other than what the main character looks like, but I don't really dig her based on that. I see enough of these attention depraved shedevils on social media already, don't really want to read a book about one of them, especially so if it's a slice-of-life book with no supernatural/spectacular elements. I feel mixed about the ending. I like that Katie got a happy end and grew from it but I didn't like how it was handled and probably would have preferred a different form of a happy ending where she still has some hefty consequences to accept.
Bryan Lee O'Mally was on a new level with his art though. The use of space and page design was really nice and I like that he got someone to help him draw the food instead of taking it on his own. People shit on the whole manga assistant thing but it helped.
Overall I feel no strong feelings towards Seconds.
