MIPCOM is starting today. For people who aren't in the know, it's like E3 but for television. Developers of programming gather and attempt to sell their shows to licencors and distributors.
Since this is the main event, there is less of a focus on animated content. Most of the animated shows get sold at MIPJUNIOR in October, but there are still plenty of animated programs being sold. Shall we take a look at what the world has to offer?
I give you... COWS. Who want to explore the SEA!
>Four cows decide to leave their meadow to discover the sea in The Horn Quartet, one of Superights’s MIPTV highlights.
>In the course of an amusing trip to the beach, four cows will discover freedom in an unknown world which extends away from their meadow. This odyssey, full of adventures, burlesque encounters, arguments, reconciliations and discoveries, confronts each one of them to the worst that could happen, and transforms the initial herd, far too deep in their comfort zone, into an indomitable pack of friends, united and free.
Let's take a look.
Zorro's been getting sold for three years now. He always welcomes me into these magazines.
You turn the page and it gets bigger. They must have blown their entire marketing budget on this ad. Hell, it probably cost more than the show.
Many companies advertise themselves instead of any specific show.
A cartoon about emoji. These are dark days.
If any of the tumbleweeds roaming this thread want to read one of these articles, just let me know and I'll zoom in and clear it up. But most of them are garbage so I'm taking the path of least resistance here.
I should have opened this thread with dinosaurs. Cows were a mistake.
>In an early MipTV announcement, Spain’s Imira Entertainment is teaming with Italy’s Dami Just For Kids Factory to co-produce sitcom “Dummysaurs.” Imira is distributing “Dummysaurs” worldwide.
Made up of 104 two-minute segs, the dialogue-free slapstick comedy has its first 13 episodes in production; the first two are to be shown at MipTV. In one, a gleeful dinosaur takes a bath at a prehistoric icy spa. It drops the soap, for a small dinosaur to step on it and take of into an inadvertent artistic skating routine. Imira is one of Spain’s biggest TV animation production and worldwide distribution companies. 90% of Imira’s turnover comes from outside Spain. Bought up by India’s Toonz Media Group, Imira continues to operate as an independent entity.
I had to wait so I could actually bump this miserable thread.
>Aimed at kids and teens, Scream Street (52 x 11) is a fast-paced, stylish, kinda gross comedy-horror extravaganza based on the hit book series. The Coolabi-produced stop-motion show centers on Luke Watson — a regular teen who happens to carry the werewolf gene. When the Government House of Unusual Lifeforms (G.H.O.U.L.) finds out, Luke and his parents are moved to Scream Street, where surfer-dude zombies, sarcastic vampires, martial arts mummies, glamorous witches and other strange creatures put a new spin on community spirit.
Nothing to see here.
Stop being so uncultured. I'm sure these countries tried very hard to make a good cartoon.

As far as 30-minute adverts for children's toys/games go, yes, yes it is.
A cartoon about bread. Will wonders never cease?
>Being the first slice of a bread loaf in Breakfast City, Osmar faces a crusty life filled with challenges. His friend Stevie, a nutty baguette, often gets them into trouble as he tries to help Osmar get noticed by Josie, the fluffy sweet cake neighbor. The Osmar feature film is in the oven for a 2016 release!

>But with this concept
I'm torn. On one hand, I love the medium, but on the other... that sounds mediocre.
