How well do the Rio movies hold up, /co/? Are they worthy of a third to complete a trilogy?
They are both terrible movies.
The only saving grace of the first one was the cute human lady. That's it.
None of the characters are well designed or endearing or make you feel empathy for them.
They are like Ice Age sequels. Garbage plots with bad jokes and aggravating characters who have no internal logic to their own personalities.

I watched the first one. It was okay, nothing much to say. I didn't feel like watching it again, though.

The sequel had a terrible awful message where all Blu did was try to make his wife happy but instead her and her family shat on him for most of the movie and the ending didn't even address any of it. There was no consequences from treating him like shit.

I'll tell you what I thought of them, I thought they were cute and the story very enjoyable. I still play it from time to time. Rio was the 1st 3D movie I ever saw and my favourite of the two. YMMV

First one was, visually, really impressive at the time. The music is fantastic as well, unfortunately the story is so stale and played out. The second film was even worse, none of the enjoyable scenery of the city and less of a plot (although the subplot with Nigel and that treefrog was cute) either way, couldn't even sit through the whole thing, it was the only film I walked out the theater for. It's a damn shame too, I was hoping it'd be great since I love Brazil and birds so it was the perfect film for me, still just fell flat.

First one had a good first five minutes or so when it was just Blu and Linda. Then it falls apart.
Second one was all around bad except for the froggy. Seriously, that whole film was just Jewel CBTing Blu and Blu really should have just let Jewel raise the kids with Bruno Mars and return to Linda, his true waifu.
