Oh no, she's orange as any other Tamaranean, it's the lack of green sclerae that sets her apart. Without the typical Tamaranean all-green eyes, she can easily pass as a superpowered asian chick, albeit with a pseudo Jersey spray-tan.

Starfire (and to a lesser extent, their brother) was pretty much the bane of Blackfire's existence.
BF was smarter, a better leader, a better fighter arguably prettier... but their parents were all, "Yeah, your sister isn't a gross black-haired cripple so we're going to give her your birthright and all our love and affection. Kindly go back to the attic and choke to death on your bucket of fish heads."
So while Star didn't really DESERVE what happened, it's pretty understandable why Blackfire would do it to her.
